They kept pushing the date of service back but failed to notify me - I had to call them to find out. The last time they failed to show up I called them and received a service date exactly one week later. I confirmed that date the day before service was to occur, and they failed to show again. When i called to ask why they repeatedly failed to show I was told the date was incorrect and it was my fault.
Additionally, they offered to take a soil sample for analysis at a cost of $150, which I declined. The company doing the analysis told me the cost was only $20.

Did a great job pruning back a giant crape myrtle, a huge holly tree and a row of Leland cypresses threatening to take over our driveway. Arrived when promised, and took care to discuss the work with me as it progressed.

Very pleased. Have used other companies and have not been nearly so pleased. I will use them again.

Great Job with Difficult Removal of Large Oak Near House and other tree work. All work was most professional including working with BGE to cut and restore power due to line proximity. Great clean-up, could hardly tell they had been there.

Very professional and thorough. I would use them again. I had many big tree limbs hanging over the 2 structures on my property, they did a great job.

I called to have some tree branches removed from my deck area and a tree that was overtaking my driveway removed and grinded. After speaking with the arboriculturist on the first day and given the time frame to which the work is to do, A Very Professional Team showed up and did not stand around trying to kill time. The job was completed in a very quick time and clean up was as if nothing happened, they even dug up the area where my wife`s garden is to be. I am well pleased with the work and will be using them in the future for more work around the house..

We had really high hopes for Ballard going into our lawn maintenance. Their salesperson had been super friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. He even threw in a couple "extras" into the contract.



What was our job?

-We have a very small property that was overgrown with weeds. We contracted Ballard to remove the overgrowth, trim our hedges, apply a weed sealer, lay mulch, and plant a dozen perennials.



Where did things go wrong:

-Pricing: Ballard contracted us for 12-15 hours of labor for a 3 man team. Our salesperson emphasized that labor is his highest cost and that this job would be a doozy. He might even have to bring a fourth person. Low and behold that the job took 9 hours with that three person team. When asked whether we would get a refund for the hours not worked, the response was that this wasn't a quote, it was a contract and that if the job had taken more time, the company would have had to eat that. Basically, be warned that Ballard prices exceptionally high to cover their costs.

-Not complete: The job (worked 2.5 weeks ago) still has not been completed, as the flowers they were supposed to plant have yet to be planted. They are supposedly setting up a date on which to do this work, but I have heard nothing, which leads to my next point.

-Communication: We signed the contract, mailed it in, received an email scan of the contract then never heard anything more. I had to text our salesman on the morning of the deadline for which we required this work to be done in order to see if workers were in fact going to be there. They did complete the work that day, but communication hasn't improved. I don't blame Ballard at all for the phone tag we've been playing in the intervening weeks, but they still have yet to inform me of whether the remainder of the work has even been scheduled, let alone when they plan to do it.



Where did things go right:

-The parts of the job that have (to date) been completed were done to our expectation, although we do already have weeds growing back.

-They did a great job cleaning up and removing the waste from our job.



To sum up, the work completed by Ballard was excessively expensive for the adequate quality- they didn't do anything particularly special or over the top, but they also didn't leave a mess in my yard.

Ballard did a great job removing trees and stumps. The cost was reasonable and their staff is very professional. I will be using them in the future for any tree trimming or removal business.

Ballard did a tree removal and stump grinding for us within the time guaranteed by their estimate. It looks great and our electrical lines are now not full of tree.

This company is great. We have hired Ballard a number of times. They provide advice based on their vast knowledge and experience. They are always very professional, very helpful, and are very reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this company.

Fantastic. I knew what the desired outcome I wanted with my trees was, but wasn't exactly sure how to accomplish it best - take them down or trim them back?? Ballard gave me expert advice and I love the final result! And the price was perfect too! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Each employee of the company that I had contact with was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Any concerns were immediately addressed. Would have appreciated a phone call to update me since work was done 35 days after contract signed. Would use company again.

I was pleased with the work done by Ballard and found it to be a good value. They trimmed the statement cherry tree in front of my townhouse to reshape from years of unfortunate amateur trimming efforts. The work was done on time and they cleaned up after themselves.

I found Ballard on Angie's List based on their rating and reviews chose them to evaluate trees in my new house. The evaluation was excellent and recommendations and estimate for future services were great. I decided to go with Ballard for the second service of maintaining my new trees. My three trees are now amazing. Their clean up was excellent you can tell that they were there. I'm extremely happy with the service I received. they also provide several opportunities to receive discounts on their services which was an added bonus. I've never had a company do that before. I would highly recommend Ballard Enterprises for you tree service needs. I will definitely use them again in the future they are now my Tree Service company.
