01/29/2015- It happened one day when i was looking for a boxing club in Dallas. That should tell you right there that i might not be from Dallas! In fact, i am from Paris, France. So there I am calling Jay at around 9 pm to set up a time and start practice. It took us about two weeks before we could meet. At first, as he warned me that it was a "down and out" kind of club, i did not expect to enter an old house. But don't be fooled by the appearance of this club! You will be sweating, throwing jabs and punches, and if you ever did your cardio on one of those fancy machines at some fancy gyms and thought you were in great shape, think again!!! The first lesson is the most important, requires focus and persistence, and you got to show Jay that you are hungry for it. I am very enthusiastic about learning and gaining a greater understanding of the strategic art of boxing. I would like to thank Jay for his patience and dedication. Alexis.
I have worked out with a few different trainers, and trained on my own, and have never had better results in less time than I have with George. While relentless, George takes the time to truly understand what his clients want to accomplish, which is unfortunately an uncommon trait among trainer…

I went to the usual places looking for a treadmill and weight equipment. Could not find anyone knowledgeable at Dick's or Sports Authority and their equipment seemed poor quality compared to what is a club like Lifetime Fitness. So I found Busybody and met Sam and Jack. It was refreshing to fi…
I purchased an attachment that the owner told me was guaranteed to fit. I didn't realize that all sales were final or I wouldn't have agreed to purchase it. This place keeps their ""all sales final"" plaque behind a number of other items in their cluttered store. It's not visible unless he pulls…

The Tenth Street Gym is a great boxing gym to come and train with the help of Jay Sanchez and the other guys and girls that train here. Trainer Jay Sanchez will help you with eveything you need to know about this sport, from your stance ,to your foot work and how to use your power and speed and then some. So far ive been training here for almost 8 months now, and what i thought i knew then is nothing to what i really know now. All i can say is dont worry about how much you are looking to get out of it becuas in time that will come, just focus on how much your going to put into it and everything will start to fall in place. By being here and training it has openend my eyes to boxers all over and and how much hard work and time they put into this sport. And with that said i have to say im proud to be apart of The Tenth Street Gym and know the people i know now and keep working and training to be a better boxer.
I’m a 31 year-old attorney who was looking to learn a little more about boxing. I’ve been working with Jay since early summer of 2011. It’s been an amazing experience. Jay is an excellent trainer, easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable. He has a lifetime of experience. After just one training session, I knew I had come to the right place. I took some informal boxing lessons a few years ago, but it wasn’t a very good experience. A good trainer (next to your own motivation) is the most important factor when you start and can make the experience worthwhile or a waste of time. You can’t go wrong with Jay. The other fighters in the gym are all great to work with and happy to help you learn while you are sparring with them. Anyone hoping to learn about boxing in the Dallas area should check out the Tenth Street gym.
My son just recently returned to boxing at The tenth Street gym. This place is with out a doubt a great place to practice whether you are a pro or an amateur. My son really enjoys the time he spends training here with Jay and all the other boxers. The trainer Mr. Jay Sanchez gives each one of his boxers direction to each individuals needs and skills. He makes you feel that you are a person wanting to train not just a number wanting to train. Mr. Jay Sanchez is a great trainer and friend. If you are looking for a boxing gym look no further. My only regret is that I didn’t find him any earlier. Thank you so very much Jay for all the help and support you give all your Boxers, May god bless you each and every day.
My son has ADHD and my husband and I have been looking for some kind of sport that he would enjoy and to help him with his focus. We found one, The Tenth Street Boxing, Jay is the trainer and he is absolutely wonderful with him. He's very patient, and gentle and strict like a grandpa. Since my son has started boxing, he has gained confidence and discipline and he loves boxing. He enjoys going to his sessions, he never wants to miss it. I like that Jay, his trainer, always lets him know, that even though he's teaching him to box to always be the bigger man and to simply walk away. I love that about him. If you are thinking of having your child box, try 10th street Boxing, Jay will welcome you with a warm smile.
The Get Fit Personal Training has been the best thing for me. Since working with George Lanier, I have lost almost 40lbs and still counting. His attitude and approach is what got me hooked. His genuine concern for your welfare and your personal goals inspires you to do the best you can for yourself. Each session, I have complained, wined, and belly ached, but mostly I have laughed. Not a session has gone by without me laughing at something said or done. George is great and I will be forever thankful to him showing me what I am possible of doing. He always believes in you believing in yourself. Thanks George for everything!!!
Having a trainer, especially a good trainer, has changed the way I work out. Not only do I look better and feel better but also I get so much more done is so much less time. George listens to the goals I want, and he customizes a plan. There's just no way I could get these results without his guidance. I used to spend twice as much time in the gym, and get only half the results. I'll never work out without professional training again. The "bad" weight is gone, and now we're working on putting "good" weight on! The compliments continue outside the gym which in turn encourages me inside the gym. Thank you, George!
I've competed in 2 amateur boxing matches before my first training session with Jay last weekend. After training with Jay I understand that what I was doing before wasn't boxing at all. Jay got right to the point refining my movement and teaching me the correct way to throw a punches, combo's and how to think. Other trainers will send you to the heavy bag to work or give you knowledge that you can pick up on Youtube. With Jay you are getting a 1on1 experience that will have you confidently going into any amateur fight. If you seriously want to learn how to box I suggest that you give Jay a call.
I have worked out with a few different trainers, and trained on my own, and have never had better results in less time than I have with George. While relentless, George takes the time to truly understand what his clients want to accomplish, which is unfortunately an uncommon trait among trainers. My focus has shifted multiple times, from strength gains, to weight loss, to muscle toning, and George has responded each time with program adjustments specific to my needs without losing his enthusiam and contagious motivation. I would, have, and do recommend George to anyone looking for a trainer.
Called Jay to give me the tour of his gym prior to signing up. Jay was very welcoming and accommodating. As you enter the gym you will see a wall full of pictures of people that Jay has trained. He seems to have touched many people's lives throughout his years. I learned a great deal during my first boxing lesson, a lot of things I didnt think about but makes a lot of sense. He taught me how to punch correctly and how to move in the ring. He seems to have a lot of patience, and I'm glad he does because I am just beginning to learn how to box. I am looking forward to my next lesson!
