Ok...It's not the finest steakhouse in town...but it's the best place to go and relax and be among friends. It has good food at a good price. The salad bar is great and Judy and Homer make you feel very welcome! The front part is for the tourists...the Back Door Bar is warm and friendly. Linda and Shirley take good care of you and Alex pours a great drink (although, I must admit, not as good as Juan used to!). Nice, casual, welcoming...believe it or not, Monday night is the toughest to get a table. The Country Club's kitchen is shut down so everyone meets at Dunstons!
I couldn't wait to get back here from my amazing luch at Al Bienat's. It was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! It had been a while since I have had such a wonderful meal without exuberant prices. If you ever go here, start with the Baked Goat Cheese, Portabella Mushrooms & Sweet Garlic and for a meal have the Niman Ranch Pork Chop wuith Gorgonzola cheese, carrots and a delicious house home made apple sauce. They also have sandwiches. My friend had one and it looked gooood!
It is a shame that one of the more pleasant dining experiences in Downtown Dallas is no more. The kitchen rated quite goog to great. Prices were likewise. he view was incredible. Alas, the restaurant never recovered after 9/11 and struggled until Sheraton management took over the contract from Adams Mark. He is hoping it may again open and my wifw and I will be able to once again dancing while we have dinner.
