OK so as I was searching for the number to Uncle Wok, which I HAD memorized, but I was second guessing myself...I did a search online and was sad to see that this place had a BAD review. I completely understand if these folks had a bad experience, but I was not clear if it was their first time eating there or NOT.
If it was their FIRST time, I would say that was really unfortunate for the customers AND for Uncle Wok..
BUT BELIVE ME..
I would encourage ANYONE, including the people that had the bad experience, TO TRY THEM AGAIN..
SWEAR in the 3-4 years that I have lived in the area of Walnut Hill and Greenville Ave., that I HAVE NEVER had a problem or order that was wrong..
NOW sometimes, when you talk to the staff, depending on WHO is answering the phone, there is sometimes a LANGUAGE BARRIER..SO I could see that someone may have gotten an innappropriate laugh MAYBE through lack of understanding.. Why do I say this? Well, beacuse I called today and said something to the older gentleman with the HEAVY ASIAN accent that I was going to write this review and he LAUGHED and then said in a VERY HURRIED tone..""Can I take order"" ...Didnt acknowledge what I said or anything else I asked outside of ordering..
NOT BECAUSE he was rude, but because he didnt understand what I said..
There are other people that answer the phone that are knowledgable, friendly, courteous and they speak English fluently
Their food is GREAT ( not greasy, very tasty sauces, juicy meats). The service is fast. Delivery guy always has a smile...
Prices are very reasonable and YOU GET A TON OF FOOD...( Leftovers)
Packaged neatly in reusable containers
I say try their chicken ( chicken fried rice ( love all the egg, veggies), cashew chicken( PLENTY OF CASHEW AND LEAN CHICKEN), sweet and sour chicken) or beef dishes ( beef and broccolli- yum their ginger sauce is TO DIE FOR) ( all white meat- LEAN)
Everyone that has eaten Uncle Woks in my home says it is GREAT!! I second that!!
