Stroke Rehabilitation
NCD has partnered with hospitals in the area to provide leadership and neurologic expertise to the community on a 24/7/365 basis. Our dedicated team of hospital-based doctors and advanced practice providers are experts in the care of patients who have life threatening neurologic illnesses such as stroke and status epilepticus, as well as other neurological disorders that may require hospitalization or urgent evaluation. We collaborate with Neurosurgical, Neuro-interventional, Internal Medicine and Critical Care colleagues to provide multi-disciplinary, state of the art care. Our team is instrumental in helping hospitals achieve and maintain comprehensive stroke center designation, improving door-to-needle time for thrombolytic therapy in the acute stroke patient. Conquering the neurologic illness often requires more attention beyond the hospital stay. We have a dedicated team in place to help transition patients to clinic physicians to continue their care if needed after hospital discharge.

Our NCD physicians work with primary care physicians to identify and treat patients at the earliest stages of memory decline. We use a multidisciplinary approach to treat all types of memory conditions, from mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer’s disease. Multiple Sclerosis
We perform various types of treatments, and will customize a program combining the best techniques specific for your particular condition. The treatment programs will be performed in private treatment rooms as well as a gym setting using a variety of athletic and rehabilitation equipment. Our team of therapists are specialty trained in movement disorders, strokes, brain injuries, neuromuscular injuries, multiple sclerosis, balance training and much more! In this test, sound waves create detailed images of the inside of the carotid arteries in your neck. This test shows buildup of fatty deposits (plaques) and blood flow in your carotid arteries.
MRI
Our state-of-the-art MRI services are performed onsite in our new office. This technology provides the clearest and most precise image of brain, cervical, lumbar and thoracic spine in order to provide quick and accurate diagnosis. Unlike other imaging modalities that require the use of radiation, MRI uses a strong magnet field and radio waves to create an image and has no known harmful effects.
Radiology
If you need to obtain your medical images, call the hospital or imaging facility and ask for the radiology medical records. They will need to know your name, your date of birth, the date that the images were taken. They may also ask for your medical record number. Ask for your images to be pulled and placed on a CD so that you can pick them up, and ask to have a copy of the report included. You may be asked to sign a release form when you pick up your images.

Neurological issues encompass a broad range of conditions, including memory/cognitive changes, stroke/vascular, seizures, nerve damage, diabetic neuropathy, neuromuscular disorders, brain tumors or lesions, movement disorders and more.

Physical Therapy
The Physical Therapy Program at NRD uses evidence-based research focused on restoring normal movement patterns, minimizing physical disabilities, and improving safety awareness to return a patient to their prior level of function or achieve their highest potential level of function. Although the physical therapists at NRD are specifically skilled and knowledgeable in treating patients with neurological diagnoses, they are also well-versed in other rehab protocols (e.g. cardiopulmonary, orthopedic rehabilitation), which is necessary when implementing a holistic approach to patient care.
Occupational Therapy
The Occupational Therapy Program at NRD is focused on returning individuals with neurological diagnoses to their normal daily routines whether that be playing an instrument, returning to work, bathing, dressing, cooking, grocery shopping, or even driving through evidence-based methods. Occupational therapy treatments may include working to improve motor skills (specifically in the arm and hands), oculomotor and visual skills, and functional cognitive skills.
Neuro Rehabilitation
Vascular neurologists diagnose and treat many cerebrovascular diseases and events, including stroke, brain aneurysm, and spinal cord hemorrhage. Our team of specialists have been instrumental in developing a state-of-the-art stroke program within Dallas area hospitals, as well as providing continued evaluation, treatment, and neurorehabilitation care for our patients.
