1st, I must say that my review is influenced by the environment and not jut the food itself, which was likely influenced by the store front possibly not being complete construction wise? The food: Ordered a Ex Lrg thin NY cheese pizza. I'm very picky, and there's only a select handful of places around I consider to come close to real NY pizza, and to my surprise, the pie from Cha Cha was actually pretty good - makes my short list of places I consider acceptable. The only problem with the pizza was the oven. Like many short-cutting Texas places, they use a conveyor style oven instead of a true NY "deck" style oven. The key difference in the "standard" NYC deck oven is gets slightly hotter, but more importantly, the decks have stone surfaces. That's the key reason the crust comes out so good in NY, because the pizza is places on a 600-700 degree stone surface - so you get "conduction" from the bottom on the crust, and "radiation" from the normal oven heat on the top. If only Cha Cha would splurge for the real NY oven, it would be really good pizza. Too bad. THough the cheese and sauce were great, and unlike in the real NYC, the cheff was pretty friendly, and generous with the cheese too! We also ordered a meetball hero sandwich. It was ok, but nothing special. THe pizza was definitely more memorable than the hero. Pizza gets 4 stars The environment: Possibly construction related issues, but on our visit, it was hot inside (virtually no AC), there was no ice for sodas, and there wasn't even an operational bathroom. When I asked if there was at least a sink to wash my hands, they said due to plumbing problems, we had to go next door to the gas station. Kinda yuk, though the place was clean inside, so didn't discourage us from eating... Environment gets 2 stars.

I am so excited to write this review! Krimson & Klover is a true GEM in the Dallas Uptown area! From start to finish my experience was so awesome, I cannot wait to go back! When I pulled up I got so excited, Krimson & Klover is this adorable little Victorian house with a bright pink door and mannequins on the porch wearing super cute clothes! I knew I would find the perfect outfit for a date night with the hubby! When I walked in I was greeted by Lindsey (the shop owner) and Ferb, this tiny, sweet, lovable little puppy who is a great mascot for Krimson & Klover. Lindsey is super friendly and immediately started asking what I was in for and what I was looking for. I need something hot for a surprise date night with the hubby!! As I started looking around, grabbing so many cute dresses, shirts and jumpsuits within my comfort zone, Lindsey was doing the same with things I may have never tried on. When I got to the dressing room I had about 15 things to decide from! Lindsey sat back there and let me come out and do a fashion show for her, it was so much fun! It was also nice because I didn’t have my best friend shopping with me to say “yes” and “no” but Lindsey was so nice in helping. Needless to say, I not only found a super sexy jumpsuit to wear on my date night, I left with 3 other items I cannot wait to wear! Lindsey did a great job of helping me find things that looked great on me! And she is super sweet! I cannot wait to go back and experience it all again! This time I may go after work because she has wine to help with your decision shopping! If I could give Krimson & Klover 10 stars I would! Anyone who has had a bad experience here needs to give them another try because anything less than 5 stars just isn’t near my experience. Great job Lindsey!!
The Goat is an odd place. I've heard some of the best live blues & jazz around in this bar and I've been around. It's 'out of the way' location alone marks it as 'easy to miss'. It's a dive bar, unpretentious for the better part and now sees a cross-over to the 20 to 30's crowd (karaoke 'Punk to Bob Wills'... lol) on Wednesdays and Sundays. Although the gems are the Monday night Blues Jams with Tony DeCicco, Perry Jones & James Perkins and every Thursday night, Pete Barbeck with Tim Neilley & Fred Gleber host the currently longest running Blues and Rock & Roll Jam in town! They started playing there when it was called the 'Office Lounge' just over 10 years ago. Like any other bar or music venue, they have their slow nights and then pack 'em the next. The list of artists who have at one time or another hit their stage, is impressive indeed. Including (outside the above mentioned main-stays), - random order - Lucky Peterson, 'Jr Boy' Jones, Joe Jonas, Pops Carter, Johnnie Woods, Bill Eden, Texas Slim, Hash Brown, Lance Lopez, James Hinkle, Andrea Dawson, JR & Sister Rose (for years on Tuesdays), The Kenny Barker Band (with David Jo Frame & Don Landry - special guest 'Bruce Bowland', also a long loyal mainstay on Tues., Fri. or Sat.), TopCats, Silvertones, Rob Hunt, Aaron Burton (recently), Jackie Don Loe with Jay Dronge & Peter Kaplan, every 3rd Fri of the month... I can go on forever...(don't be mad cause I didn't mention yer name...) You wanna hear someone blow? I take my chances with The Goat on Mondays and Thursdays anytime! For Fridays and Saturdays, check their calendar on myspace.
