I use to live in the area and would have dinner at this restaurant from time to time. But I moved away. I remember the great food they perpare. I happen to be working in the area after 12 years of being away and wondered if the Florentine Restaurant was still open or had they closed down. I looked them up on the net and low and behold they were still in operation. I thought since I was working in town, I would have dinner there. I wonder if the food would taste the same or how many time they may have changed their menu. I arrived at the restaurant at about 5:30pm and business was good. I look at the menu to see if my favorite meal was on the menu. As I view the menu, my favorite meal was not on the meal, they had change the menu. I ask to speak to the cook and explain to him that I use to come here year ago and if he could make a dish call Veal Sallopine that use to be on the menu sometime ago. Alferdo and Abert was the cooks and they knew what I was talking about and said yes we can and will make it for you. This dish was veal, lighty floured with prawns and veggie in a white wine mushroom sauce. It was just like I remembered 12 years ago. Alferdo has been the cook at this restaurant for over 25 years and he knows his food, past and present. The service was the best. This is one of the few Restaurant that I can remember that still cover their tables with nicely press linen and linen napkins. This is what I call class. I will alway come here for dinner when I'm in town.
