Dr. Maloney was warm, friendly, and affectionate to our black lab, Rosie. Rosie unfortunately was having problems walking on one of her front legs, painfully limping around the house for several days. We decided, after reading many wonderful reviews about Dr. Maloney on here to give her a call and see what she thought of Rosie's condition. After examining Rosie, she strongly believed she had bone cancer. The only solution to this was unfortunately to put her down. Dr. Maloney made the experience as comforting and loving for Rosie as possible. In our time of grief, we could see that Dr. Maloney truly cared for Rosie and made the experience as least traumatic as possible for not only Rosie, but our family. We have recommended many friends and family to her services. We appreciated her heartfelt care for our pet and would strongly recommend you give her a call. Thank you Dr. Maloney, you were a god-sent for our family and our pet in our time of need.

Dr. Michelle Maloney came to my home tpday to put my wonderful cat to sleep while I held him in my lap, after several stressful weeks of tests and treatments. My kitty had lymphoma and had stayed with me as long as he could. If you have to go through this heartbreaking experience, you can't have a better person for your beloved pet. He was at home, he felt safe, and he was handled gently with someone whose care and concern showed in her face and every action. Dr. Maloney treated my two senior, adopted cats for 3 years. She has been with me through diabetes for one of them - which eventually we were fortunately able to control through diet changes. It cannot be an easy task to manage a practice that provides this mobile, come-to-you service. I have been impressed with the sheer volume of tests and diagnostics that she can perform without a brick-and-mortar facility. And more so, especially in the case of my diabetic cat, I think we benefited tremendously just from her personal experience. Her instincts were on target when it came to diagnosing first the diabetes, and more recently the lymphoma. I have had to put other pets to sleep before and have been fortunate to always have caring practitioners. Michelle was particularly compassionate, especially concerned to make sure my animal was comfortable, and gave me the opportunity to participate or not, as much as was comfortable for me. Thank you, Michelle.

Dr. Maloney is the absolute worst vet that I have ever encountered. Both of my older labs were patients of hers that she had seen previously. She claims to be an emergency vet, and when my 12 year old black lab was having a health emergency, I called her five times, and left messages to alert her that it was an emergency. When she finally returned my call, over a week later, I got the pleasure of informing her that my dog died while I was trying to reach her.
I gave her the benefit of the doubt, because he passed so quickly. So, later, when my other lab began to decline in health I decided to use her services for the convenience that a house call provides. When I finally decided it was time, I called and made an appointment with her. However, my dog began to decline even faster and was growing increasingly more uncomfortable, and losing the use of her back legs as well as her already inept front paw. So I called to see if I could move the appointment up closer, so that my dog did not have to suffer. She said that she would come euthanize her on a Saturday afternoon, and I waited for her all day. She neither called nor showed up. I tried reaching her twice throughout the day. She never responded. That night we had to take her to the emergency clinic, because she was suffering so much.
She does not seem to understand how difficult it is to make the decision to euthanize a pet, and has not been supportive in my experience with her.

I am completely disgusted with my recent experience with Dr. Maloney. I called her and requested that she come to my home to determine if my 14 year old chocolate lab needed to put down and schedule her to come out to my house to check him out and to vaccinate my other 5 dogs. I asked her over the phone about pricing and she referred me to her website to find this information. I only had access to her site through a mobile device and this information was not available that way. I called her to let her know and ask again and was not provided with that information. I was anxious to have my elder dog examined and prepared to deal with the decision to lose him. I scheduled her to come out knowing that it was likely his time. She arrived at my home and sat in her vehicle for 15 minutes. I finally went outside and asked if she was coming in. She rudely stated that most of her clients come out to her. Ok...well I didn't know that. My dog is 14 and can barely get down the stairs so I thought it made sense for her to come in for the initial exam to determine the next step. She agreed it was probably time and said she charged 175 to euthanize but would not take him and provide cremation services. Well...it's winter so burying him is not an option. I didn't want to be left with a dead dog and nothing to do with him. I said I never would have had her come had I known this. Then she began to argue with me that she ALWAYS goes over in detail what happens when a dog is euthanized and that I didn't tell her that's why she was here. That is a lie. I called her specifically to come out and help me make that decision. Not only did she not tell me what to expect for my dogs final hour...she didn't even explain the process or cost to me even after I stated that I wasn't able to access this information online. She also wasn't certain when my other dogs vaccines were due...said she needed to check her computer. Ummm...seems she would have researched that prior to coming to my home so she could provide me with accurate information. It seemed to aggravate her when I had questions. She was in my home for about ten minutes and when I learned that she euthanized and then left me to deal with the body...I told her that wasn't feasible. She didn't do any exam and treated none of my pets and charged me 125 dollars. I feel that I was legally robbed. I found her to be cranky, uninformative and argumentative which is not what you need when you are bracing yourself to lose a beloved pet. I am completely dissatisfied with my experience with Michelle. She was not compassionate toward me just rude and argumentative and blamed me for the misunderstanding. I give zero stars.

I'm a convert! With 3 dogs and 2 cats, getting all of my animals to the vet for their regular care was very stressful - for me and for them! So for a while I've been considering vets who do "house calls" - there are a couple in my area who were recommended by friends. But then I discovered Dr. Maloney - she doesn't just do "house calls" per se, she brings a totally modern, fully equipped mobile veterinarian clinic right to your driveway! It has everything from x-ray equipment to a surgery so there's practically nothing that a pet might need that she can't do on the spot. It was so easy getting the animals in there, and Dr. Maloney was so good with them, I don't think they even knew they had been to the doctor. She gave each pet a thorough exam and brought them up to date in their shots, all for about one half of the cost I would have expected to pay at my old vet. Dr. Maloney will be my regular vet for all my pets from now on, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for convenient, compassionate, reasonably priced veterinary care. And if she doesn't answer the phone when you call (she works alone much of the time) leave a message and she'll call you back - we played "telephone tag" for a little while, but it was definitely worth the effort to make an appointment.

Update 2/7/2013 - She's great for emergency calls, too. When my lab hurt his leg I wanted him to be seen right away - I called Dr. Maloney and described the injury, and she and her mobile hospital arrived in my driveway within a couple of hours. The exam was thorough and totally non-stressful to the dog (he was so glad to see her, he almost forgot that his leg hurt). We got medicine to relieve his pain, instructions for ways to promote healing, and a plan for follow-up if further treatment is needed, all without leaving the yard - and she cleaned his ears, too! I'm still a convert.

In the past when I received a postcard from the vet saying. "It's time for your pets' annual check-up" I generally ignored it because I knew they would recommend lots of tests and shots that were probably unnecessary and would cost hundreds of $. But when I received the reminder from Dr. Maloney I called right away to schedule an appointment because I trust her to do only what is necessary to protect my animals' health - and I'm glad I did! One of my dogs tested positive for heart worm, and while that's not good news I know we are in good hands with Dr. Maloney on the case - had I ignored her reminder, it would have been much worse.

Convenient & Efficient! I decided to give Dr. Maloney a try after reading about her in the paper. I am sure glad I did! I work & live in different towns, that has made it very difficult to get my 2 Cats in for regular check-ups. This was a excellent answer to my time issues. Dr. Maloney said she would call before arriving, she did and I was able to gather my kitties for their check-ups. No stressful car ride, no two trips because I only have one carrier, just calm kitties that got the check up they needed and I feel like a much better Kitty parent! We decided to shave my long haired guy because of mats. Dr. Maloney made it clear she is not a groomer, but she still did a great job! Punk was surprising well behaved, I think this speaks to the Dr's manner with the animals. The cost is very reasonable & well worth the convenience! I will continue to use The Pets Mobile Vet for all of my Kitty's care.

As a fellow small business owner in Maine, I am saddened by my experience with Dr.Maloney. She had come highly recommended by my family and I was looking forward to having the convenience of not having to transport my two ragdoll cats for veterinary services. Dr.Maloney first saw my 12 week old kitten (Teddy) and she was immediately worried that he may have feline aids based on his behavior and puffy tummy. I was worried because I already had a 6 month old cat (Milo) and they had been in contact with eachother. She recommended blood work and I was in tears worried about the health of both of my cats. I made an appointment with her to have Teddy's bloodwork taken sometime the following afternoon (we didn't set a time bc she had a busy day so she told me to call her to confirm the time the following day) and in the mean time I made a phone call to my previous vet. My previous vet has 2 ragdolls and told me to come see her before making any decisions on how to move forward. I called Dr.Maloney the next morning and left her a message informing her I was bringing Teddy to get a second opinion and needed to cancel my appointment for that day.

In the afternoon she called me upset because she didn't get my message and had been waiting for me to call. I felt horrible and apologized for the cell phone issues that we all sometimes run into but assured her that I left her a message that morning. I am a real estate broker and I understand the value of keeping appointments and valuing professionals time. I would have never purposely not cancelled my appointment (especially when she knows my address and I know her time is valuable since she is driving to meet her clients).

My second opinion told me that Teddy's personality for a ragdoll was normal and she did not recommend any further testing. He is now almost 1 and a very healthy, playful cat. I decided to keep Teddy under the care of my previous vet.

My older ragdoll, Milo, had already been neutered before I was introduced to Dr.Maloney. Unlike Teddy (who loves car rides), Milo hates being in the car. I told her when I first met her that I would plan to have her take care of Milo because he has extreme anxiety in the car and normally gets car sick multiple times on the way to the vet. It eased my mind knowing that he would no longer have to travel by car to receive his veterinary care.

To make a long story short, I called her to schedule Milo's annual appointment this past week. I didn't hear from her after a day (I know she is very busy so that was fine) so I decided to call her again today. When she answered the phone she informed me that after her last experience with me she would not be taking me on as a client. I was confused and hurt by the way she treated me on the phone. This is my first time posting something negative online about a business but I thought potential clients of hers should know about this situation. She wouldn't even give me the chance to discuss our situation before saying "have a nice day" and hanging up the phone.

After discussing my phone conversation with my family and other people I had referred to her they were also disappointed because I had always spoken so highly of her. They have decided to also stop using her for veterinary services based on her reasons for not taking me on as a client. I understand her time is extremely important but it was a mistake that I had absolutely NO control over. I paid her for her time at my house, was respectful while she took care of Teddy and even referred clients to her.

Dr, Michelle Maloney has a bedside manner towards animals like an angel. She is an honest, loving towards your animal and listens to owners about concerns. Astra our german shepherd sadly had to be put down on 04/29/2013 and Dr. Maloney made her comfortable and at ease, as well as our family. So thank you Dr. Maloney for caring for Astra....

Dr. Michelle Maloney is the best! She made the best of an unfortunate situation with one of my cats. It was traumatizing enough that he was at the end-of-days but she made it bearable coming to the house & taking care of "big kitty" right there. Since then, I have been using her for my other cat & she is just great. My cat loves staying at home and not being transported to the vet. Thank you, Michelle!

I had been looking for a more personal, consistent, convenient and affordable veternarian for our dog and two cats. With a husband on crutches and a sickly cat after hours, I called The Pets Mobile Vet instead of going to the pet emergency room or waiting for an appointment with our regular vet. In a short amount of time, I was able to speak personally with Dr. Maloney and she arrived for a lenghty and thorough examination. All three animals were brought up to date on their vaccines and after doing a blood test, it was determined that the sickly cat was indeed diabetic. Dr. Maloney took much time to explain the options to us. We were then in contact by email and phone and decided to treat with insulin. Although, it seemed that it would be unlikely that the cat would be a candidate for diabetic reversal, I am thrilled that with Dr. Maloney's guidance and care that this cat is now considered a nondiabetic! I am so happy to have this service available and have been more than satisfied with this experience. We definitely plan on using Dr. Maloney for all our veternarian needs.

Dr. Maloney is absolutely a fantastic vet. I have used her for all my dogs and cats which are numerous-13 at the present. The dogs are so much better behaved with quietness of the RV and they get super individualized care without the stress and commotion of a regular vet visit. The cats are so much calmer from not having to travel in the car and there are no other animals to frighten them. Dr. Maloney's rates are so affordable and are so much less than regular vets which really helps when you have a lot of animals. Her RV is completely equipped just like a regular vet. The best thing I have found was when a couple of my greyhounds had to be xrayed and she was able with her portable xray machine to do it with them standing up which eliminated the need to lay the dogs down on the table which is hugely stressful to a long legged 85 lb dog. Also the machine is digital so the resulting pictures were crystal clear and the price was extremely reasonable. Dr. Maloney is very compassionate and caring with the animals and they just love her especially my youngest greyhound, Jessie. The next time you need a vet give her a call. You will not be disappointed.

Watch out Portland, Maine area...

Watch out Portland, Maine area Vets. The Pets Mobile Vet is coming to a home near you (quite literally).

Although we had to misfortune of having to put down our 16 year old Husky/Lab today, I must admit, the process was much more loving and peaceful having done it at home with our family.

Although we did quote the process with our primary in-office Vet, the rate was staggering. After stumbling upon Dr. Mahoney on YP, we contacted her desperate to help us with our long-loved dog Maggie. She answered the telephone after hours. Next, she arranged to visit us this morning helping us ease Maggie into a better place.

Honestly, if you told me I could get better Vet service at my house for less money, I would say impossible. However, Dr. Mahoney provides just that. Her kindness, willingness to adjust her schedule to suit our needs along with her complete mobile Vet service is something just shy of a miracle on wheels. Not to mention 1/4 quarter the cost of our primary Vet.

Thank you Dr. Mahoney for your care and concern today. We will certainly share our story with friends and pet-owners growing tired of packing up their furry friends to scurry off to the Vet's office.
