I shop at this HEB at least once a week and each and every week, though I ask the packers to pack my bags light (I am an 80 year female and I have to unload those bags when I get home!) they never do. I believe it is a lack of proper training in customer satisfaction and I suggest to the supervisors that they look into this practice. Just now they had put a half gallon milk, a large bottle of lemonade plus two large bottles of Dr. Pepper in the same bag. Give me a break!
If you're looking for variety for lunch, Whole Foods is the place to go. There's something for everyone, from a gigantic salad bar to pizza and sandwiches, tacos, a grill and international cuisine. Especially when it's a pay per pound system, things can add up fast. My favorite cost control measure is to get a pre-made sandwich. The Barton Springs, with turkey, fresh greens, brie cheese and fig jam, is perfectly satisfying and under $7.
People will push you and your buggie out of their way on Sunday. Wait until another day of the week. The place itself is of highest expectations. Staff is awesome, knowledgeable and helpful. I will be back, any day but Sunday that is!
