General Info
We provide services to all age populations including infants, preschoolers, school-age children, adults, and geriatrics. Services are provided at our clinic in Covington, at preschools or nurseries, and in private schools. We evaluate and treat communication disorders related to: articulation, language, learning disabilities, stuttering, tongue thrust, aphasia (stroke patients), voice quality, laryngectomy, cognitive impairment, hearing impairment, non-verbal communication, cleft palate, and dysphagia (swallowing disorders).

PROFESSIONAL STAFF Lynne G. Schaeffer, MCD, CCC/SLP received her Master of Communication Disorders degree from LSUMC in New Orleans in 1985. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana. Lynne has worked at Covington Speech and Language Center since 1985, and became owner/director in 1990. Lynne has experience in a variety of settings including private practice, home health, private schools, preschools, acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehab facilities and psychiatric hospitals. She has experience in evaluation and treatment of both children and adults, with special interest in auditory processing deficits, language/learning disorders, voice disorders, cognitive rehabilitation, and stroke rehabilitation. Her treatment philosophy includes a high level of collaboration with patients and their caregivers, and the development of a mutually respectful relationship in order to obtain maximal therapeutic benefits. Lynne was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She enjoys family activites and serving on the ministry team at her church. Allison Hingle M.A., CCC/SLP received her Master of Arts degree from LSU in 1991. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana. Allison has worked in a variety of settings including private practice and Head Start Centers on the north and south shores of Lake Pontchartrain. She moved to Covington with her husband in 1996 and joined the practice in 1999. She is experienced with the evaluation and treatment of articulation, language, fluency, learning, and voice disorders in children. Her treatment philosophy includes compassion, motivation, and dedication to her clients in order to provide the best possible therapy to maximize their potential. Allison is presently working part-time at the center. She is actively involved with her children's schools and her church. Diane Massimini M.S., CCC/SLP received her Master of Science at Vanderbilt University in 1980. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana. Diane has worked over the years in a variety of settings including private practice, home health, public schools, and stroke/head injury rehabilitation clinics. She has experience in the evaluation and treatment of both children and adults who are having communication difficulties such as articulation, language disorders, voice disorders, and stuttering. She has additional experience in auditory processing deficits, childhood and adult apraxia, and speech disorders associated with velo-cardio-facial syndrome. Her caseload at Covington Speech and Language Center includes typically developing children as well as those with autism, Asperger's, VCFS and Down's Syndrome. Diane believes in the power of laughter which is often heard during her sessions. A strong knowledge base and a sense of humor is a winning combination in helping her clients achieve their communicative potential. Diane was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Diane's greatest joy, however, is her daughter Jennifer who lives in New Orleans and is a physical therapist. Brenda Eike, our office manager, holds a B.S. in Accounting from UNO and handles all of our insurance, billing, accounting, and general office needs. Brenda was raised in New Orleans and now lives on the Northshore. In general, Brenda helps keep us all up and running!
