Kidz In Step Dance & Gymnastics

This school is everything I was looking for for my girls. Great, friendly environment and they actually care about the kids. Most schools we've tried or checked out are so pushy and all about the $$$. Mrs. Jennifer gets to know each of the students and parents individually. She takes time to talk to parents and is extremely patient with the kids. She inspires me as a mother. Mrs. Liz is so sweet and makes my daughter feel so comfortable in class. I feel blessed to have my girls at this school. The front desk staff is wonderful as well, we've been at Kidz in Step two years and it's like a second home. great people!!!

My 2 girls LOVE to dance at Kidz In Step! This is our 3rd year with Mrs. Jennifer and WOW my girls have learned more than they ever learned at another local studio in town. I feel like the teachers at Kidz In Step are more knowledgable and educated in dance than any other studio in town. My kids are actually DANCING not just moving around.



Last year we started both girls in gymnastics as well - they enjoy it! Smaller program BUT they get personal instruction and have smaller class sizes!! Ms. Sam is sweet and makes the kids work hard!!



The staff at Kidz In Step is great :) family friendly and helpful! My kids were excited to start another season at the studio.

I guess it depends on your needs. Since my kids were only interested in gymnastics, we can't say much about the dance part of this place.



For gymnastics, I think that this place is limited by the lack of space. I do not blame the teacher for this; I think she's good, but the room is so small that she's unable to teach any gymnastics that require any room, i.e. handsprings, floor exercises, uneven bars, etc. The space is just too small.



I think that this facility is fine for parents who want to tell their kids that they're doing 'gymnastics', even if they're not really. But, if you're looking to give your kids the skills to get involved with cheerleading or gymnastics in middle and high school, it's my opinion that you'd be better served by choosing a larger gymnasium, where they've actually got the room to teach the kids flips, etc.

I sent both my daughters to KIS last year, and they did pretty well for the most part. However, they are none too organized. They put on the most disorganized recital I've ever seen. Plus, parents weren't allowed to videotape just their child's performance? Instead, we were asked to pay $30 for a video without close-ups of our children.



My kids loved Ms. Sam, the gymnastics teacher, which was good. Unfortunately, the receptionist is the only person who ever calls you back, to provide you with information.



This year, we really had too much of the poor organization. They changed my daughter's class, and I wasn't informed except by e-mail... FORTY-FIVE MINUTES after the class had begun. When I called to try to schedule a make-up, I was told my daughter couldn't make up the class that we'd missed, even though it wasn't our fault. No offer of a refund, either.



I paid for a class that my daughter wasn't allowed to attend, and the only person who returns my calls is the inflexible receptionist. And only when she can be bothered, it seems.



The tuition rates are good, but they seem to make it up by charging too much for costumes and not allowing parents to videotape their own children. It was torture having to sit through that recital; I don't want to relive it. The only act I'm interested in is the one with my kids in it.

My daughter looked forward to attending her dance class with Miss Jennifer every week. There was no option for missing a date. The shows at Christmastime were awesome. My daughter is not currently a student because she is no longer here having died at age six, but I know she still dances in heaven!
