Limited Liability Companies
Generally, it is smart for small business owners to incorporate, as it can help insulate them from liability and often has tax benefits. There are multiple types of corporations, and which corporate form is most appropriate varies depending on numerous factors. Many small businesses will choose to form limited liability companies, commonly known as LLCs. LLCs are generally suitable for companies in which a small number of people have ownership interests. LLCs allow business owners to avoid liability for the business's debts, and the LLC does not have to pay federal income taxes. The business owners must pay taxes on their shares of the business's profits, however.

I started off in the restaurant and customer service industry when I thought I wanted to open my own restaurant one day. During that time, I took courses on food sanitation and business management and quickly learned that was not the direction I wanted to take my career. One day I received a call asking if I could be an emergency foster to a puppy coming from a horrendous hoarding situation in Mexico. The same day I picked her up, I was offered a job opportunity in a Personal Injury Law Firm. As a paralegal, I assisted multiple attorneys in case management of prelitigation and litigation matters. Processing discovery and pleadings in preparation for trial within the civil, federal, and appellate courts. I started with Wilson & Wilson in June of 2022 as a legal assistant, and was promoted to paralegal in the Northbrook office shortly after.

"I have been a client since 2015, when we put together a Will and Trust for my Dad. I'm sorry to say that my Dad passed in 2019. During the Time in between, Our Attorney Alyx, left the firm to pursue other opportunities. I have to say that the staff at Wilson & Wilson kept me informed consistently through the transition. they gave me a sense that they cared about my interests, and I was not disappointed. Trusts
Many special needs children are eligible to receive government benefits, but such benefits are typically insufficient to meet their needs. If they inherit money from their parent's estates, though, they may lose the right to receive such benefits, leaving them with inadequate means to take care of themselves. Fortunately, parents of children with special needs can protect their children's right to receive government benefits and provide them with supplemental funds for their care by creating special needs trusts.
Power of Attorney
If a client grants their attorney power of attorney, they are essentially asking them to make health care or financial decisions on their behalf. An attorney-agent granted power of attorney may have specific or general powers. In other words, if they are granted general power of attorney, they have the right to control all aspects of a person's finances or health care. If they have specific power of attorney, their authority to make decisions on their client's behalf will be limited to isolated issues. Power of attorney may be durable, meaning it lasts from the time the client executes the document granting their attorney power of attorney until the client's death or may be springing, meaning they only go into effect in the event the client becomes incapacitated
