"I rolled into the Cottage House late on a stormy September night. I was out in KS on business as a geologist - but brought my dual sport motorcycle to ride the "minimum maintenance" roads in the flint hills. Although I looked like something from a wanted poster - they treated me extremely well. I got a room on the first floor in the old part of the hotel. It was fantastically clean and quite charming. Not quit historic- but vintage enough. If I had one hotel room that I had to use for all my trips the rest of my life - this would be it. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The owner was a charming and engaging woman who was very hospitable. This is the perfect place for a romantic tryst with the wife. I will say, that the place feels historic, except for the large amount of "Foo-Foo Clutter" in the lobby. Dolls, doilies, just frilly junk everywhere. Nearly every surface was covered with something. It really detracts from the vintage west feel. It verges on "Grandma's Trailer" in that regard. Less is definitely more. It is worth the price. Its charming. And its a waste to stay there alone. If your a motorcyclist - and not drunken, loud, biker trash - and you do not smoke...its a great base of operations for riding the incredible backroads of the flint hills."
"Chris, Sandy and the rest of the staff at Bachura Family Automotive are knowledgeable, professional and fair. I appreciate the fact that they don't recommend repairs that are not needed and work to..."
