Unbelievable that you could find such a great sushi bar here on the island. We have eaten sushi all over the country and this is the freshest and best we have ever had. The service is impeccable and we have become happy hour regulars! Don't believe those other comments...they must have had too much rum punch before dining!

I refuse to eat anywhere that has Blue Marlin on the menu! I went in with some friends, actually went to the Office which is the bar next door. They allow service from the Sushi Bar. We ordered our drinks, saw that they serve Blue Marlin and cancelled our order. The Office employee said it's a separate business but since they allow the serving of a Billfish, we told them we wouldn't return as long as they serve Blue Marlin.

The Sushi Bar on the Island has really good sushi, the place is really hip and upbeat, but horrible service. I have gone to the sushi bar 4-5 times since it has been open, the first time I couldn't figure the menu out, second time one of the people who worked in the kitchen was my waiter and couldn't tell me anything that was in the rolls, weird huh? and please don't order food to go, I ordered my food that was supposed to take twenty minutes, ended up taking forty, I drove all the way from corpus off of staples to get food to bring to Port Aransas, after waiting forever I got my food that was tightly tied in the black bag and drove to eat the sushi with my boyfriend, when I got there and took the food out of the bag is was nothing I ordered, everything fried. When you want sushi you don't want fried food. I called them up and complained and nicely enough, they said they would comp my food next time I came in. Well I ended up going there tonight, they were pretty busy, and my drinks and miso soup came really fast, but then an hour went by and five tables all four tops except for one which was a big party all sat down after my date and I did, got there food and a couple were paying there bill, my waitress notice that we still didn't have our food, she looked frantic, it turns out one of the bus boys ended up serving it to another table, she came up an apologized, she might of noticed earlier if she would of checked on us, and if she along with the other waiters weren't on there cell phones, making sure there friends needs were met before anyone else (when I said friends before other paying customers, the chef's were walking out giving there friends sushi of off plates they were almost done preparing) that there was something wrong, again we were told that our meal was on them, funny? because i've already been told this once before. So after my last experices I can honestly say I will not be going back to the sushi bar on the Island.

OK. so everyday I see cars parked in the street in front of this place and wonder why its so packed. A neighbor says they have the best sushi thats why.We decided this weekend to pay a visit. We were the first ones in the place as they had just opened. YES the music is loud and weird and its the size of a shoebox in there. The waitress takes our order and we wait. 20 min goes by and here comes customer # 2. He takes a seat and is obviously a regular by the way they treated him. 10 min later he has his sushi and we are still waiting. 45 min after we walk in we finally get our sushi. Cant wait.... after the first bite we knew we wouldnt be back.

If it wasnt for the spicy sauce on the stuff it would have no taste. Very bland. Hubby wasnt impressed either. Sorry folks, Ive had better sushi out of the seafood counter at HEB. There are a few Japanese resturants in Houston that would put this place to shame. Well $30.00 later we are still scratching our heads. You're just nothing to write home about.

The food is great, but the service is very bad. They really act like they don't care at all or are too busy. This even happens when there are not many people in there. Music is really loud.

This is a funky liitle sushi bar with great food, prices and friendly service. The black peppered ahi tuna is fantastic. I was traveling in Corpus Christi for the week on business and ate there three out of four nights! Looking forward to getting back sometime!
