My wife and I are from Leakey and we came to Corpus Christi for vacation. We heard Politics was a good bar so we went on Friday the 22nd of March. There was a live band playing but the bar was not busy. We are assuming the bartenders are entry level. We did not receive help for 20 minutes from any of the 3 or 4 bartenders ( I do not remember how many exactly) As my wife and I were leaving the waitress (I assumed she heard us chatting) approached us and introduced herself and asked us if everything was okay and if we ever got served drinks. We told her no and were considering leaving. She told us if we stuck around she would get our drinks quickly and buy our first round. We took her up on the offer, sure enough, our drinks arrived in less than two minutes! Being as sweet of a girl as she was, continued to help us for the rest of the night. She was the only waitress tonight she said in conversation. It shocked me and my wife how quickly that tiny girl could move! Anyways we ended up staying late and enjoyed our night and the band. We left happy and my wallet empty with a large gratuity to the waitress. I wish we remembered her name. On our next vacation we will be coming back to Politics for a good time.
Mr. Harrison is Owner & Host; a real kewl guy. There are two areas to play Pool which are the 7' tables on one side nearest the bar, and the 9' tables for the more polished and expirenced players. I have played in most of the Pool and Billards Halls in this City, and I must say and recommend…
I don't really go to clubs, let alone Tejano clubs, however a friend of mine took me to Tejanoville about a year ago and I had a blast! I go at least three times a month now! They always bring the best tejano groups down and I always feel safe in there, unlike the other Tejano clubs in this city…
Went for the first time with a lady friend and had very bad service. It took 15 minutes to get a beer and a mixed drink. They only had 1 bartender to get the drinks an she even messed up an brought me the wrong drink. Just overall bad an will never go there again. Was quite embarrassing for me w…
My favorite niece, and her awesome husbandTyler, frequent the neighborhood bar. They are so awesome, they always said,it's just like right over" there" Really close to the house. So one weekend,I joined them. I really enjoyed it,alot. We had great time, although they had an earlier start. They had s…
As a newcomer to Corpus and an avid hookah enthusiast, living across the street from such a versatile atmosphere has totally helped me integrate myself with the locals and find people of all genres to socialize with. The place is hard to miss, as red and white lights pull one from the street and…
24. Molly Mc Ardle's
Lots of fun. Friendly atmosphere. But do bring cash. It is common to be overcharged on a tab and not in your favor. Usually, if you haven't been there too long and dispute it then they will apologize and credit you.
27. The Cove Club
A Cheers-like atmosphere, where everyone knows your name. And if it's your first visit, you are welcomed and treated like a friend. Tucked away in Salem's Center, is at first, hard to find. But if once you find it, you will be back.
29. Mulligan's Pub
OMG, I came in here on a whim to just relax and have fun from out of town. Man a very good choice. The bartenders are really nice and helpful. The crowd was perfect for me, friendly and very inviting. Ended up staying to 2am. I am so coming back here. Recommend this place to anyone.
I have recently gone to House of Rock on Wednesdays and I have to admit I had so much fun. The first wednesday that I went I took my cousin with me and she just turned 21, had her first drink at house of rock. They had a beer pong tournment and needed an extra player so my cousin played. We were there all night the crowd was cool and the beer was great only 2.50 for any beer that they have available. The next wednesday that we went it was for beer school that was awesome too. Free beer and I found one that I liked that I had never even heard of before. It was really cool. House of Rock has definitly put a new twist to hump day. Im so excited to go see the Jimi Hendrix tribute tonight!!! Very laid back place love it!!!!
This store happens to be one of my favorite stores in the Corpus Christi area. They have a lot to look at and many different types of items to choose from when shopping for yourself or for others. They carry the largest selection of Vera Bradley than any other store I have been to that carries that brand. They also have Yankee Candle and a beautiful kids/baby section. Next door in the same building is the best children's book store that I have ever shopped in. I love this store and they have so much there. I could go around the store many times and still see something new each time. Highly recommended for gift giving, browsing or just spoiling yourself!
I frequently go to Politics because it is in a great location. I hate to admit it but I'm there every weekend. They have live music every Friday night; with great band selections if I might add. There is a very cool, brand new bar on a very put-together patio. The bartender outside is the sweetest girl you will ever meet, and the bartenders, although usually busy, are very kind and professional too. I never get served a drink without a smile too. Politics is the place to be! Oh, it's VERY clean too. It doesn't smell sour like most bars in town.
My favorite niece, and her awesome husbandTyler, frequent the neighborhood bar. They are so awesome, they always said,it's just like right over" there" Really close to the house. So one weekend,I joined them. I really enjoyed it,alot. We had great time, although they had an earlier start. They had some other friends there.. Atmosphere, music, drinks, and of course, the alcohol.. I don't live in the city anymore,I have lived in the country for,27 years.I will never live in any city, but I was born and raised in c.c.tx. It's a nice place to visit.:-)
Excellent food with a Mexican flair. I had brusquely and chicken plate with beans and rice as a side. Food was excellent, service good, prices good. The only reason I did not give 4 stars as it is definitely a bar environment. You have to walk past the bar with a lot of people drinking during lunch to get to the dining room. If that doesn't bother you it's definitely worth checking out for lunch as I did.
Once Again, Great Food My husband and I ate here over 15years ago and decided to go back. The food was delicious and we were very happy with our waitress. My daughter had the bowtie shrimp alfredo and it tasted delightful. I tasted my husband fried oysters and it had a good consistency and the taste was awesome. Prices were not too high either. Would recommend to anyone.
Well, House of Rock has a lot of flavors and colors. From ppl coming on stage to read poetry, to signed and unsigned bands. All sorts of liquior and beer. Also, there's a second have of the building that's more laid back with another bar, pool table, & games. Everythings good price. Though if there's a band there's a cover charge. Though I like this sence.
A bar for the rest of us! Thanks for making Politics the place to go for... classic rock, country, and modern music (live on Friday nights), pool, darts, and games and UFC on the big screen, a big patio with a full bar, a clean and relaxed atmosphere, and the best place to party on the south side!
This place is REALLY good. I've had their bulgogi burger, regular and boneless wings, teriyaki rice and chicken, fries, and just about everything else. This place has really good food. The owners are funny and often give you some free Korean food to try. Give it a try. We are glad we did.
