Come on folks, be fair about your reviews. This shelter is the ONLY humane society in the area. The staff is well trained and has since some of these reviews has undergone serious training for the well-being of the animals that call this shelter home. Also a change made for the better, is the former director has since walked out and has been replaced. Those of you that choose to hold back your donations for your various petty differences, how about donating some time and volunteer to see how difficult it really is for the upkeep of the shelter and the animals. It isnt an easy job and the staff should be commended for the work they do. Dont judge from the word of a former worker that didnt even do her own job. You want to make a difference, use your voice and speak up to the present director or manager, dont speak negatively on the web. Give them all a chance, they do a hard job in a city that doesnt seem to care about their animals.

We just adopted a dog from the GCHS. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. The volunteers were sweet with the animals and everything seemed clean and organized. If there were any negative comments in previous years, it's obvious they've tried hard to fix any problems. Our little dog was happy and healthy and they made sure that we would take good care of him. Please...if you want a new little family member, be sure to check out the animals at the GCHS.
In response to the first review...I assure you that the Humane Society in Corpus would love to have all of the things that you talked about. While you were visiting Corpus did you fail to look around town at all the stray dogs and cats that populate our streets? With the MULTIPLE rescue organizations in this city unable to keep up with the numbers of abandoned animals I wonder if any of these organizations will ever see this "profit" of which you speak.
