I am not sure that the previous ratings apply to the current management at Silver Spoon. My toddler started daycare at 2 months old and was at the same daycare until one month ago. The previous day care began complaining that he would not engage and would not listen, yet when I asked the teacher what was going on she would say I think I am too lenient with him because he is so cute. So pretty much he was calling the shots, they created a monster and now expected me to correct the problem. I finally got fed up and pulled him from there. I moved him to another day care who apparently did not take the time to engage him in activities and called me 2 - 3 times the first two days. Upon recommendation from my cousin, whose child used to be cared for by Ms. Perez (new director) in her home, I contacted Silver Spoon and was beyond impressed. The day is started with breakfast, the pledge and a prayer. My 2 year old is now starting to recite his ABC's and count objects (something he refused to do before). Their meals are well balanced. I am impressed by the progress my child has made in just one month and he LOVES attending. I have yet to leave him crying. I recommend anyone looking for quality day care you contact Silver Spoon. I do not have a single complaint or concern and know my child is well cared for.

A friend of mine showed me this review and I just had to respond. We have had a daughter in this child care center since 6 wks. old - now 3-1/2 yrs. - and have always been pleased. It is illegal to work a teacher from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM. This is why there is a teacher to welcome each child in the morning, a teacher to teach each class all day, teachers that rotate while my child nap so each can go to lunch and a different teacher to release them at the end of the day. This equals 4 teachers, but only one teaches a child all day. I like this because it allows my child to know all the teachers and all of them to know her. My husband and I both watch our child on the internet several times a day. If a child is a persistent biter they are disenrolled to protect other children. This happened just last week in my child's class. We plan to enroll our next child (due in July) at Silver Spoon. We know it to be safe, clean, loving and very educational. The staff is wonderful and our daughter has learned things far above her friends that attend other day child care centers in the area. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this child care center.
My daughter was just at a year when we started at Jan and Rays. It was hard for my husband and I to let her go as she has sever asthma and we wanted to make sure she was in a very loving and nurturing environment. I have to tell you from the first day we started with Jan and Ray we have felt confident and comfortable with the their home daycare. We continue to trust Jan and Ray with our precious daughter and appreciate their structure as they are preparing her to enter Pre-k. Jan and Ray treat our daughter as if she is their very own. They go out of there way for the little things like calling to let me know my daughter didn’t cry when I left her, or if she was not feeling well they will call and give me updates. It brings us a peace of mind knowing we can go to work and our daughter is with people who consider her family. The bonus is also having the opportunity to apply for the scholarships offered to assure our daughter can be there. We strongly recommend Jan and Rays for people looking for that rich family caring environment for their child. Laura Luna-Puebla
