I ordered a Lamb Shank it looked really good but it had no taste. I sent it back and got the 1/2 Chicken it was better but had very little taste. The main couse was hot but the sides were luke warm. I guess the plates stay out and then the main couse goes on.

My fiance and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet here so much that we returned the next morning for breakfast. Only when we went back, there was no buffet. No worries, we ordered other items and were pleasantly surprised. We asked for things (like Turkey bacon) that we didn't see on the menu but they were happy to provide it for us. The food was great alone, but the wonderful service and beautiful view made it magical.
We just dined there this morning for breakfast. They were having Sunday Brunch, which is $24.95 and looked lovely, but we didn't have that kind of appetite so we passed on the brunch and ordered off the menu. Before I talk about our food we ordered, I will tell you about the brunch.\r
The brunch is HUGE, it's like going to a Las Vegas buffet. They have 2 or 3 live stations with a cook preparing your omelette's just how you like them. They also have a carving station which feat...view moreured a freshly cooked fish, or what looked like roast beef to me. There were a lot of tasty looking desserts and everything from Mexican food to the traditional bacon and eggs. Of course, mimosas are also included.\r
Now, as for our food, we ordered a traditional bacon and egg with potatos and pancakes, and a fruitata (sp?) ... Everything was just ho-hum, nothing to write home about. They don't really seem to know how to use seasonings, there was no taste of anything, I would recommend using the pepper grinder at your table to spice it up a bit. My Fruitata was pretty dry and they put way too many red peppers in it, so all I could taste was the peppers. The potatoes were not very delicious, they tasted like they were re-heated from the day before. The pancakes were very generic, the kind you would see at a Denny's, nothing to write home about.\r
Our meal came to $35 bucks with a fresh OJ (which wasn't very sweet) and a late ($3.50). They do validate your parking, which is $4 if you don't get a validation. Make sure you bring your parking ticket with you as they need it to be able to stamp it.\r
The atmosphere and the service were pretty upscale, what you'd expect from a high dollar resort like Loews, but overall, I think there are much better spots to dine at in Coronado and in San Diego. Perhaps next time we'll try the brunch and hopefully our minds will change about this place.\r
