Segneri's Italian Restaurant

Experienced a bit of nostalgia as the environs took me back to the various ethnic 'mom and pop' restaurants of my youth. At the suggestion of my diner partner we started with wedding soup...excellent balance of flavor, but we both agreed just a bit on the salty side. Nevertheless, I would order it again. The salad was freshly prepared and a wonderful combination of different greens lightly coated (in the true European fashion) with oil and vinegar. The taste of the greens was delicate and nicely perceptible. I moved on to the special of the day 'tripe' with a side of pasta. The tripe I believe was the rumen, had a good consistency the marinara sauce was delicately prepared yet very flavorful. The sauce on the pasta was not overly garlicky as you find in some Italian establishments with a nice balance of sweetness. My guest had the white claim sauce made with fresh claims. The portions were more than enough and we had extra to take home. The coffee was fresh and flavorful.
