Amanda, I also worked at VT&T and I can back Blaine up on this. When you said "when its supposed to be 'free'", that raised a red flag and made me this k you didn't listen to a word the manager told you when you were on the phone with them. We do NOT EVER say FREE when we tell people about the vacations. Because it is NOT free. Nothing is free in the world. Yes, you have to pay port fees which you were told at the end of the call by a manager. Yes, you have to pay for accomodations, which you were told by a manager at the end of the call. Why and IF you got charged for double? I don't know. You're the first person to have ever complained about being charged double what they were told.
Hey Blaine F... If it's not a scam, how are they legally charging people DOUBLE what the port fees and taxes are that the GOVERNMENT has established?!.....................................
I wish i could give 0 stars! I have a cruise certificate for a 3,4 or 5 day cruise. First of all, they say that Carnival determines the rates they charge and they make no commission...we all know better. BOOK DIRECTLY THROUGH CARNIVAL!!! They tried to charge me DOUBLE the port fees and taxes than listed by Carnival for the same cruise...You are charged taxes and port fees determined by the government, I would think it's highly ILLEGAL to double charge somebody those fees! The "certificate" is good for an entry level cabin that has twin bunk beds, so if you're planning on traveling with a significant other, you have to upgrade to the queen bed...Carnival charges $60 for such an upgrade, this crappy travel agency tried to charge me $472 extra! At the end of it, it costs the SAME to book directly through carnival, but they offer stateroom credits and free room upgrades all the times in their specials. I would NEVER recommend Vacation Tour & Travel Inc, even if it's supposed to be "free"
I work at this establishment. these are prepaid vacations at a much cheaper rate then normal hotel accommodations. if it was a scam we wouldnt have a tax id code that the federal government uses to tax all employees and keep track of it. its a prepaid vacation people!!
Beware. Got the unsolicited call for 2 night stay deal in Vegas deal. However, waited weeks and didn't get the material they promised but they charged my card right away.
I called to tell them to credit my card since I didn't receive anything but got the run-around. This place smells like a scam, scam, scam. Just called my CC company to reverse the charge.
Vacation Tour and Travel also known as VTT pose as Carnival Cruise Lines. They have a Carnival Cruise Lines logo on their building and they also use the Carnival name on the caller id when making calls to customers. This is how I got tricked. I thought the call was from Carnival but it ended up being Vacation Tour and Travel. They try and trick you pretending they're offering you an amazing deal when in fact they've just inflated the price of the cruise and are trying to get you to participate with a timeshare presentation. Total scam
This company is a COMPLETE RIP OFF! They lie and tell you all rooms are booked, then when I called back as someone else they were magically available! It is unreal. I am still in complete shock that NBC and Icoupononline.com would even recommend this company. To top it off they are NASTY and RUDE.
My family went on a getaway from Vacation Tour and Travel last Thanksgiving. We just got back from our cruise. We recieved a call after my husband filled out a Bass Pro shop form in Tennessee. We were slightly concerned about giving out our information over the phone but Monica was very reassuring. She even went so far as to walk us through their website to show us that we were really recieving a legitimate deal and there was no catch. We went to Branson, Missouri and toured Big Cedar resort. It was beautiful with all of the Christmas lights. We even caught Andy Williams show, a childhood favorite because my parents song was Moon River. Within a few weeks of completing our tour, which we declined to buy, we recieve a call asking us about our cruise plans. We booked a 5d/4n cruise to Baja. We did have to pay port fees and taxes but the rates and cabins we were able to book through this company were better than anything Carnival was offering at the time. We are now ten pounds heavier from all the amazing food on the cruise and very satisfied with our experience with Vacation Tour and Travel. The only complaint, we can't purchase another get away for another 15 or so months. My husband and I could make this a yearly thing!
I cannot stress how awful my experience with this company has been. This agency is only service oriented until they get your credit card number. Once they have your deposit, they have little to no time for you. And, better yet, once they have your full payment....no need to even treat you like a human being. You think I sound bitter....you are correct. They have $996 of my money for a cruise that Carnival canceled. Guess what.....Carnival refunded the money to them. BUT....I don't get that same courtesy, I must re-book another cruise within 3 months, or I will lose the entire $996. Sounds like a good deal....huh?????
I know of several other customer experiencing the exact same issue.....Of course, the agency isn't worried. If I can find another cruise, the agency will make a commission on that cruise. If I don't find another cruise, they get to keep my entire $996. They win no matter what.....and I get to be the Big Loser that made the mistake of using their agency.
Vacation Tour & Travel scammed me out of $198.00 deposit when they could not produce a discounted tour they advertised. They refused to return the deposit even when contacted by the Better Business Bureau where they have a C-- rating due to other complaints such as mine. Beware of this outfit!! They are a total ripoff.
