I was told about Hut 8 by a relative who frequents the store. Because of that, I decided to make the 50-minute drive to visit this store and to sell some clothing. I was greeted upon entrance but was NEVER offered any help bringing my items in the store (1 box full of pants and jeans, 2 bags full of shoes, and 1 garbage bag full of more pants and shirts). Normally this would not bother me, but due to the fact that I am 9 months pregnant, just the gesture alone would have been appreciated. To top it off, of all those things, they only "could" buy 2 items (which were the cheapest items of everything that I had taken in) "because the clothes weren't juniors," which was NOT the case. But I didn't argue with her. About 95% of the things I took in were name brand, some had never been worn and still had tags on them, and everything else had been worn MAYBE 2-3 times. All of my items that were not purchased were NOT folded back, just thrown in the box and bags. I thought that was very rude given the associate had made it clear to me in the beginning that she was not busy. At least have the courtesy of returning something like you received it. The owner (I believe) clearly does not have a trained eye, as she could not authenticate my authentic Coach handbag (purchased at Dillard's) I wanted to sell so I don't know what makes her such an expert. I don't wear or buy knock-offs, but maybe I "look" like I do, I don't know. Through all of this, I wasn't upset and I did not have an attitude or anything because I'm not that desperate for cash. I'm a registered nurse and do pretty well for myself. I just took the rest of my things and put them in my car, once again without even the slightest offer of help (mind you there were 3 associates). I was not even told "thank you" or "have a nice day." Nothing! I'm mad at myself because I did purchase something--(which I can't believe I did)--one dress, only to find a hole in it when I got home. Bottom line, this was the first and LAST time I visit this store and after telling my cousin about my experience, neither will she or her friends. The lack of help and throwing my things in the bags REALLY turned me off. The lack of help more than anything! I DEFINITELY wouldn't recommend this store to friends...not even my worst enemy if I had one!
