I went there because another shop had told me I needed to have repairs on my Toyota Corolla that they said would cost $300. Mark and his employee both looked for the 2 leaks and found none. If they had wanted to, they could have said I needed the repairs and charged me $300 for them but they w…

Mr. Vasquez showed up at my work to help me on a dent I had on my new car. The dent was minor, but it was such an eyesore for me since I just bought the car less than 2 months ago. Not only did he text me the time he was going to be there, he texted me when he was at the front office. From there…

All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
A MUST READ, Please take the time to read this experience with this auto repair shop; this is absolutely worth your time. My Daughter and son in-law just moved to Texas from Florida and just got settled in an apartment in Conroe. The move for them and finding a job wasn’t easy and a financial nightmare. My wife receives a frantic call telling her that they were stuck outside a Wal-Mart with their 2007 Honda accord that would not start 10 miles from their apartment. The events from here I could easily turn into a novel because there was enough drama to do so but I will spare you. They had NO family, no help from the local church, (boy that’s a real witness), their recommendation wanted over $ 900 dollars to repair the car after charging them $80 for towing and another $40. for a diagnostic fee which they already had to pay for. I’m her Dad in my 60’s I live in Florida and I usually take care of any car issues for them because neither of them have a clue when it comes to auto repair. I thought to myself that there must be an honest auto repair somewhere in the area that could help them. I got on the Internet and looked up auto repair Conroe Texas. There were a bunch but one caught my eye. Marks Auto Repair. I have a brother in Philadelphia whose name is Mark and he has an auto repair also. So, I called Mark around noon (my time) and explained my dilemma and he told me that he would take care of my daughter. I am shortening this story up to save space here is the outcome; Mark had her car fixed in that afternoon and up and running for under $140.dollars. He was honest and fair and did exactly what needed to be done. Talking with mark on the phone I knew he was an honest man up front. I paid the bill with my master card over the phone with complete comfort and thanks. Thank you Mark!!! I will put my name to this testimony and I Give this Auto repair shop the highest rating, and his shop should be at the top of the list. Streater Smith provides unsurpassed Honda service. I had previously used 4 other Houston area Honda dealers before taking my Accord to service advisor Daryl Hoop at S-S for factory recall repairs, as well as timing belt, transaxle seal replacement and transmission service. S-S did excellent work, their prices were fair, and they met promised completion time. I was so impressed by the service department that I chose to buy a new CR-V from S-S. They had received that particular vehicle in a trade between dealerships, but the other dealership had not followed Honda instructions for installation of a dealer installed option which created a problem for me. S-S service advisor Shayna Humphries, service manager Shawn Smith and technician Samir Tabora-Fuentes did an exceptional job recognizing and quickly correcting the problem. I have seldom dealt with a dealership having employees as committed to quality service and customer satisfaction. Streater Smith has earned a loyal customer who will return some day to buy another new Honda... thanks to their service department.
I wanted to take a minute and let you know how happy I am with not only my Nautic Star, but just as pleased with the guys at Texas Marine. When I was in the process of buying my Nautic Star, you called me out of the blue just to make sure everything was going good. You mentioned something about "Inspecting what Texas Marine Expects..." I like that, and you also said if I ever had an issue that required a little extra help, or if I just wanted to "Brag on Texas Marine and it's employees", that you would love to hear that also. This is to brag. From the first visit where I met Jerry Spiller, who turned out to be the store manager, and through the entire process, it was a great experience! I normally do not have time in my life to do things like this, but Texas Marine deserves credit. I find it rare nowadays for "Above and Beyond" what is necessary, but Texas Marine, Jerry Spiller, and every person I have dealt with has been great. The bottom line, Texas Marine does a great job! Thanks for the great service, and keep up the good work!
I needed to purchase a new car for me and my husband. I looked in the phone book and found the nearest Kia dealer in my location. I like to keep my purchases local in my area for several different reasons. We live in this area and we need to support our local suppliers and dealers. I pulled into the dealership and was greeted by George Hewitt who made me and my husband at home. George found out all mine and my husbands needs for the purchase of both our new vehicles. After George helped us he took us to finance where we meet with David Johnson. David helped us get the right rate for our needs and some much needed aftermarket products that will help keep us if we need assistance after the sales. I know that we got a great deal on both our vehicles and financing purchased at the best rates for us.
Recently I received a survey rating the delearship, service and sales personnel. I filled out the survey but upon realizing the mistakes I made in answering this survey, I would like to give my own description and in my own words how I felt about our experience at Streater-Smith Nissan. The dealership was both extremely clean and very friendly. I was treated with kindness and with expertice. My salesman, Corey Taylor went beyond my expectations in helping me with the process of learning my car in its fullest. I even had a problem with the bluetooth and he spent a great deal of time with me explaining the ins and outs of the system. I'm sorry for the misrepresentation I gave because it was not how I felt. So far everyting is GREAT with both my salesman and the dealership. Melissa Mitchell
The weather was very cold as my wife and I came on to the lot. I was surprised to see a consultant out in the cold as well, but Mr. Kaufhold was very quick to offer a warm handshake and smile. Immediately, I was at ease as Victor brought us inside to find what we were looking for. Victor only took about 2 minutes to suggest 2 vehicles and we went to the lot. Within a couple of minutes we were test driving a beautiful Sorento. Within 2 days, Victor helped us drive away in a brand new 2011 Sorento (fully loaded)! That was a great feeling! Victor and the staff at Cowboy Kia treated us like family. Not only do we have a beautiful vehicle but new friends at Cowboy Kia. They went above and beyond to make sure that we received the best financing and trade-in allowance. Thanks again!!!!!!!
I have used Mark for over 15 years! If you need an honest, fair priced mechanic you can trust, please give Mark's Auto Repair a chance. He has kept my 1997 Chevy truck running beautifully with 200,000 miles on it. This is a guy who will not take advantage of you or your inexperience with repairs. He is a mechanic your dad would send you to if you were a single female and needed a job well done. I was referred to him by another single female and have referred friends and family to him who have never had a complaint about his work or prices.Call him if you need some work done or a 2nd opinion. He will tell you what he can do or not do and what the problem really is. He will explain the answers to your "stupid questions" patiently in terms you can understand, lol.
This is the second time we have bought from Streater-Smith Nissan. The staff is friendly and easy to work with. Truly have the customer in mind and not the bottom dollar. Corey Taylor has been the greatest salesman to work with. He understands what the consumer wants and doesn’t use smoke and mirrors. Straight forward and to the point. A little bit of back and forth, but a great experience. The service department is a pleasure to work with. The first Nissan we had never seemed to be fixed right from 2 different dealers. We brought it to Streater-Smith, and never had another issue. Do to that experience, we have bought the last two Nissan Altimas from them. Can’t give them enough praise. A dealership like this is few and far between.
My husband and I had been shopping for a new Kia Soranto and we decided to go see what Cowboy Kia had to offer. We were treated like family. Victor found me the perfect fit for me. I have been driving it with love everyday. I had to visit the service department to have some scratches fixed and Kriss was there to greet us. He took care of us right away and put us in a loaner car for the day. Kriss went above and beyond and fixed my Kia up good as new. I'm so excited to drive this vehicle everyday. Victor calls me from time to time just to check in and see how we are doing. He is really a top of the line Kia family member. I will tell all my friends, family and even passer by's to buy a car from Cowboy Kia.
I arrived at Streater-Smith Nissan just before closing on Tuesday to look at some of the cars and Tim came to see if he could help. He was very helpful with showing me prices and different models and sent me home with one to show my husband. I came back the next day and was able to test drive another car. That Thursday my husband came into the dealership with me and Tim took us together to look at even more vehicles. He made sure that we knew MPG and features on every vehicle and was so patient with us. We found a car that we love and Tim did everything he said he would do and then some. Thanks Tim!!!
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
