Houston Roofing Construction & Remodeling

We contracted with Houston Roofing and Siding to do an $18000 job on our home. This included roof and siding. The roof was completed in a somewhat timely manner and seems to be okay. The siding is another story. We had problems with workers showing up, Scott Houston, the owner would not return our phone calls and when we did speak, we got one excuse after another. We contracted in July and in January, terminated the project because we realized Scott had been given all the money for materials up front, but had run out of materials and/or money and could not finish our job. When we had new estimates from other contractors, three separate people told us that the job was done completely wrong, nothing was sealed or caulked, the fascia was not put on correctly and would blow off in a storm and our space around our windows would leak and the wood underneath would eventually rot. The siding had been put on too tight and would not allow for expansion and contraction, the over laps were not installed accroding to factory standards and the entire house would need to be redone. I would not recommend this contractor because he is not honest, is not timely and is not skilled in siding installation. If you contract with this business, do so at your own risk and with the knowledge you may need to redo the job several years later.
