Kelli- Fantastic Colorist/ Stylist

I was looking to update my look, when one of my staff members referred me to Kelli. Kelli's suggestions made it easy to decide what I really wanted and I could not be happier. My color is natural yet still has a pop( exactly what I need at 50...), and my cut lays so nicely with very little effort. If you're looking for a new stylist, I would highly recommend Kelli Sanders at Akada Hair Salon.

Tejay- Great Stylist & Customer Service

Tejay is a great stylist and a new go to for Men's cuts! A couple weeks ago,I set up an appointment at Akada with Tejay in search of a new stylist. After sitting down with Tejay, I found that he has extensive training for both men and women's cuts and prides himself on building a good rapport with his clients, while ensuring great customer service. The one major selling point I had with Tejay was that he only used scissors, a technique that is a true measure of a great men's haircut. Additionally, while Akada carries a range of amazing products, this can be daunting for a guy. Tejay was able to direct me to what products would best suit my hair type as well as overall atheistic. My over all experience with Tejay and the Akada Salon was great. The atmosphere wasn't intimidating for a guy to walk into and I left feeling that I had quality service from a professional.

Amie is the very best. Her cuts and color are perfect. I've been to every top salon in Columbus over the past years and never been happy with both cut and color. I am not surprised that her former clients from Chicago still come to Amie here! She is an amazing hair professional.

My Mom took me to Amie to get my haircut as a bday present. I have long layers that normally get out of hand within a month or two after a cut, but I don't like to get my haircut every month. Amie sat me down first and talked about my hair, my routine, and what I wanted. Then she cut my hair and told me about what she was doing. Three months later, the cut is still great, and it still holds curl and everything. Went back this weekend for another cut from Amie, and it is just as great a cut as the first visit. My 12-year old also got a haircut from Mary Katherine, and it looks super duper too!!!

Best service, perfect cut/color

I was wanting to try a different place since my stylist, Radeo, from Phia salon, left. I researched this place and read the reviews on the site, and decided to schedule an appointment. This was the best decision I have made for my hair. Mary Catherine knew exactly what she was doing and she was very precise. She told me what she suggested and asked if I had any questions. My hair color turned out amazing. She matched up swatches of color to my skin tone. This was my best haircut/color yet. I will continue going to Mary Catherine! The price is cheaper than what I paid for at the Phia salon. It is well worth it!

am new to Ohio and needed to find a great hair stylist. I decided to try Lindsey at Acada based on the great reviews. Wow! She is awesome! Without a doubt I got the best haircut that I've ever had in my life! In addition, she took the time to talk to me beforehand about what I wanted. Although it's been a couple of weeks, I still cannot believe how fantastic she has made my hair look. I always knew the importance of a good cut, but my hair is doing things it's never done before just because of Lindsey's great handiwork! I highly recommend her, I know I will be returning!!

She is absolutely the most on trend and best stylist I have had over the years anywhere I have lived - I am so thankful she is in Columbus! Great men's cuts

I've had a hard time finding a hair-cut that lasts more than a month, but Amie's hair-cuts are top-notch and typically last me two months. I keep a pretty close cut and Amie does it all with a scissors - no clippers. I totally recommend her if you are looking for a great men's cut in Columbus.

Amie Vonderloh at Akada takes care of me and my widow's peak! She has been cutting my hair for over a decade and continues to keep my cut looking full, styled, and does it while making the experience emotionally painless as I brave the dismal future of my receding head of hair. She is also by far the easiest stylist to have a great conversation with. I have had others and no one is as enjoyable as Amie. They pale in comparison. Amie is a riot. She always remembers what is going on in my life and it is always a hoot to hear about what is happening in her's. Akada in general does a fabulous job in making me feel welcome when I come to town. There is no big city snobbery and the care and consultation is what keeps me coming back!

Wonderful Cut and Color Thin Curly Hair

I was trying to find a new salon and after surfing the internet I found Akada. Kelli is amazing! I have thin curly hair and she was able to cut, color and define my curls. I have always straightened my bangs but she made them curly. I am still getting use to it but I think it works well with my new hair style. Kelli also colored my hair first with an over all gloss and then some partial highlights. I love the fact that when the color starts to fade it is very subtle. Before each appointment Kelli takes the time to go over what you are looking for with your cut and color. She also gives you her input but does not push you towards one or the other. She also tried out some of their new products in which I ended up going home with a bottle. 10% of any product sale goes directly to their education fund. Akada likes to make sure their stylist are up to date with the latest hair cut and color trends and allows them to go to different classes throughout the US. She also gave me a bag of samples such as a deep conditioner and natural shampoo to try out at home. Kelli is very friendly, respectful and just down to earth and overall fun. If you are looking for someone who knows their stuff, is very easy to work with and is wonderful stylist, Kelli is your woman!

Great Color and Cut for Long Thick Hair!

I was searching online for salons and saw that Akada had good reviews and decided to give it a try. I have really thick hair and I'm super picky about how it looks. My stylist Kelly did a great job and I couldn't be happier. My hair is naturally pretty dark, but I put a lot of blonde highlights in it. I could tell Kelly was very knowledgable about coloring . She used a few different blonde tones so it looks natural. In fact, I've had a number of people tell me they thought I was a natural blonde! My layers also look fantastic. My hair isn't weighed down and they shape my face really well.\r Kelly also gave me good advice on what hair products to use. She is very personable and fun to talk to, so that is an extra plus.

Worth the Wait

I have been on a search for a new salon and after searching and reading many reviews of other salons..good and bad.... I have chosen AKADA. Kelly had many great reviews and so I called the Salon and the polite receptionist informed me that there were no appointments with her that day or the next and they tried to get me in with someone else. I decided to wait and see what kelly was all about. When I came into the salon the receptionist greeted me, offered me a beverage and showed me to the waiting area. Kelly soon came over to greet me and took me back. Kelly was great! Kelly's personality was wonderful and I truly enjoyed talking to her. Kelly really took the time to get to know me and my lifestyle to help pick the cut for me. I loved that, she also listened to what I had to say and used products that would work well with my hair type and new style. She explained everything she was doing and gave me styling tips which really helped. I left with a large bag of products that were not pushed upon me which was nice. I have already made my next appointment and this time I will have Color included! Kelly gave me several color ideas I cannot wait to try out in a few weeks once my color needs to be redone. This salon also sent me a survey to fill out with a coupon, which I thought was a very nice conclusion to my appointment. I love my hair, and am thrilled about going back for color. So if you are looking for a new hair person... Kelly is your gal... and she is worth the wait!!

Anytime I go home to Columbus from Charleston, SC one of my first stops is to see Lindsey at Akada. I follow her to wherever she's working, which is thankfully still Akada since I love the decor and vibe there. I have dark curly hair past my shoulders with some layers, and she does a great job!! Super sweet, too! :)

Almost 1 year later.....

I went to Mindy last July and everyday since then I have been struggling with my hair. I have naturally curly thick hair and I wanted her to show me how to style it and what products to use so I would learn to love my curls. I told her I still like to wear it straight alot and did not want much cut. She proceeded (without me realizing it) to completely thin my entire head of hair so drastically and layer it so much that when I wear it straight I look like I have a shag from the seventies. Every stylist I have gone to since last July has commented that they cannot believe that someone would layer me as much as they did. I have all these massive layers on top and then the last 5 inches are thin pieces of hair. I never thought I would write a review about this but 9 months later and I am still hating my hair everyday. I miss the way it was before Mindy butchered me. I spence $100.00 for the WORST haircut of my life.

Lindsey's your girl for color work! I went in for a major change -- medium to dark brown up to a light red -- which involved lifting old color that I had on my ends, and the results are great. What's more, Lindsey walked me through the whole process so I knew what was happening and why. She was the perfect combo of knowledgeable and personable, and I'd recommend her to anyone.

I came to Kelly at AKada after reading many great reviews. Kelly did such an awesome job, I could tell she really knows how to cut curly hair. I brought in a picture of a curly hair style I liked and kelly made suggestions to alter it to fit my bone structure. I usually leave feeling a little off until I go home and rework the style, but it looked so great when I left I did nothing. In fact I am worried it wont look as good when i do it. She also taught me a new styling technique that I have adopted into my routine. it works great! Kelly recommended a great color shine treatment that will help the frizziness of my curls and enhance my color ,and I go back next week for it! The whole experience here was great. There was even a very nice girl who swept the floor twice as Kelly was cutting my hair. Nice touch!

I went to Mindy for the first time today. I have curly hair and I always walk out of salon's not liking the way my hair looks and always end up showering right after! Today I walked out of the salon loving my hair. She talked with me about my hair, my expectations and what I wanted. I loved her suggestions and after this trip I will for sure be returning to her for my next haircut. It was a great experience, and I would recommend her if you have curls she will make you love them.
