After receiving my families Herschede Hall Clock I immediately made a wrong decision on who to have restore it. Without getting into it, it was a bad situation and a waste of time and $$. This drove me to re-search and i found Michael's website. I called and spoke with him and after speaking with him, it was apparent he was the right expert to entrust this project with. He is so knowledgeable and educated, it immediately is comforting. I made the trip from the Detroit area to leave the clock with him. Mike was extremely informative and easy to understand from the beginning on exactly what would be done as well as what may or not be done based on what he found upon getting into it. As it was a full restoration it would be costly, but he assured me that the process he went through as well as that of the artisan/expert used for the face refinishing would be considerable and meticulous. It also would take a while for him to even start on it, but this was not a problem. He made me aware of when he would begin approximately and how long he would want to test it before finishing. All told it was a year. He let me know when he started it by giving me a call and then reminding of what his process would be. He informed me when it was finished and on the testing rack as well as how long i could expect for it to take. When I picked it up, he spent an hour going through everything I would need to know when taking it home. Setup was simple and VERY pleasurable. The clock is Sublime. I can't thank him enough. He is the best and the one you want to work on your special clock. I look forward to sitting, staring, and listening for a long time!

I recently had Mike come out to my house for repair and maintenance on my grandfather clock. Mike was courteous, very knowledgeable and best of all, patient with me and answered all my questions. My poor clock had the most pitiful Westminster chime that you have ever heard with a hesitant largo tempo and inappropriate tones and an occasional clunk. After expertly removing the face plate and hands and oiling all the cups and checking the true of the rods, Mike put my clock back together. The clock now didn't "clunk" any more and seemed fine until he tested the chime. The pace of the Westminster tune was now an appropriate allegro, but the tune was off. Mike said "now this is interesting ... I haven't heard this before" and opened the clock again and dived into trying to discover why the tune was "off" as if starting on an adventure. Needless to say, he soon discovered the problem, fixed it in a wink, tested the chime and that being successful, put the clock back together. Mike moved my clock back into position, leveled the clock and even attached a vibration damper on the back of the cabinet so that now when I walk by the clock on my old 1890's creaky hardwood floor, it doesn't rattle the pendulum or bang the rods. Mike is an expert and you can tell that he enjoys his work. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs repair or just maintenance on their treasured time pieces. I could swear that after Mike left, I looked at my clock and it appeared to be standing a foot taller and straighter while singing a very happy tune.
Michael (and son) are wonderful! I took in a mantel clock my father's aunt had given him in the mid 1960's. My father said it never worked as he knew it as a child and it never worked as I was growing up (possibly because I used it as a play-thing). The clock was given to me by my father and I wanted to make sure he was able to see it/hear it at some point. Found Master Clock Repair after doing many searches and looking at reviews. The clock was in bad shape, dirty, innards broken, etc. Michael's son told me it would take approximately nine months to fix (due to their schedule). I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call several weeks ago with the clock being completely repaired more than three months early! Michael noted it still did not sound great but that he might be able to find new chimes. I told him I did not care about the cost. Michael called me later that day to say he found one, installed it, and it sounded great. Not only was the clock restored to like-new condition, it works, keeps great time, and came in costing less than I had initially anticipated! Great work; great service; great communication; great price. And now I have a new family heirloom thanks to Michael and son! Absolutely would recommend!
