Eaglecross Kennels

I bought my puppy in December of 2014. He was 5 months old when I purchased him. I heavily researched breeders online before purchasing and on Eagle Cross Kennel's website, they look great. However, that is far from the reality. When we arrived the kennel was extremely dirty and had a horrible smell of urine and feces. The puppies were confined to small quarters that were full of wet newspaper and feces. Greg brought out 2 puppies for us to see and they acted like they had never has human interaction before. We chose the older one that appeared to be in worse condition. We asked if we could see the parents but Greg told us we put the adult dogs at risk of getting sick so we could not meet them but we could see them online. The mother was not on the website. Greg told us over the phone that the puppies we were looking at were going to be $1000, but once we were paying him he quickly changed his mind and told us our puppy was $1200 because he "has a nice coat".



Because our puppy was extremely dirty, matted, and covered in urine and feces, we called groomers on the way home and luckily were able to get him in that afternoon. The groomer bathed him 3 times attempting to rid the horrible smell and had to shave him due to the condition of his coat. The groomer explained they do not like to shave dogs that young but she simply had no choice because his mats were so severe.



The following day we took our puppy to the vet. He was diagnosed with round worms and Giardia despite Greg telling us the puppy was treated for worms one week prior. We also found out the puppy was missing many required vaccines for his age and the ones he did receive did not have the appropriate boosters given so our vet recommended essentially redoing all his vaccines. We contacted Greg about the health issues the day we got the results but never received a response.



Our dog is now 1 year old and the results of testing all point to a liver disease (not yet confirmed). We contacted Greg to see if we could get our $1200 refunded to cover the prescriptions that he will need the rest of his life. Instead, Greg told me to "put the dog down" and he would replace him with a puppy of up to $2000 value. I told Greg I was not interested in replacing my dog but he continually repeated I needed to put the dog to sleep because he was only going to get more genetic problems.



I would STRONGLY recommend not supporting this business. The puppies are not properly socialized or cared for. Greg is much more interested in financial gain rather than the well being of his animals. If you want an ethical breeder, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Eaglecross kennel has been a wounderful experance for our family! We bought a puppy from them last year and got another one at Christmas time this year, what a joy! We have gotten a Goldendoodle and this last time a Labradoodle and could not be happer with both! They are healthy, smart, and trained so well that both dogs have never had an accident in our home. I went to the kennel and was very impressed with how clean and well taken care of all the dogs were. Most breeders will not let you go into there place, but Greg (the owner) took us through and showed us everthing. We were so impressed with them that we have sent 2 of our friends down and they have also gotten puppies from them and are thrilled! Im am not sure of what the other review is talking about, but they did not go to this kennel! We are not only please with our dogs but know several people who have also gotten great puppies from them. I would give them 10 stares if I could! It was a wounderful experance!

Upon entering the driveway of this facility, you think you are arriving at a really nice place. HOWEVER, the kennel reeks of urine and poop and the POOR dogs are lying in it. The website goes on and on about how they care for the animals and their health and that they are kept in warm cages with wood chips as cushion...etc. HOWEVER, that is ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CASE. The kennels are concrete, wet, cold, and ALL the dogs are completely dirty, smelly, malnutritioned, dehydrated and the paperwork you receive is false. We took the puppy we bought directly to our vet and $300 later it was confirmed that he had worms, was completely dehydrated, had double ear infections, and couldn't walk because of lack of exercise and stimulation. He could barely focus his eyes because he was rarely in light! These people claim to be a legit business and yet they only accept cash and present false paperwork.............our papers say the puppy is 10 months and the vet said he is no older than 6 mos. DO NOT consider this facility for any reason or you will be disappointed and lose sleep over the poor dogs that are harbored there.
