Other than Tamara's impeccable bio and not to mention, her outstanding work, what impressed me most was her willingness to respond/address the negative reviews posted to this website. This alone caused me to become a first time customer and boy, I’m glad I did!!! She's terrific and so too is her staff!!! TAMARA and her team are fabulous! 18 months ago I came to the shop with desperately damaged hair. After 3 months of specialized protein and steam treatments, my hair and scalp were rejuvenated; my hair's volume returned to that of my teen years. Now my hair is as long as it ever has been! Tamara is a consummate professional and the salon is so welcoming and comfortable.

Courtney is the best, she is very detailed and she made sure that I was happy with my color and style. I am a woman that loves to talk to my stylist and her conversation was great and it didn't hinder her ability to create a beautiful look for me. I have sent coworkers to her as well and they all love her. The owner of the salon seems a bit pushy and that part I didn't like but other than that my experience was great. If you have a chance to stop into this salon ask for Courtney and you will not be dissapointed.

I called thia shop at 4:00am just to check the hours and if they took walk-ins...to my pleasant surprise, Tamara called back!!! She told me she was booked, then asked why I was calling at this time...I explained my hair emergency + birthday celebration...she instantly squeezed me in. With my fingers crossed I showed up. I was impressed by the service I received from the moment I walked in the door! I left 1hr and 15 min (unheard of for me) truly pleased!!!! Before I left, I was sure to make my next appointment....Tamara and her staff are professional and they operate in excellence!

Hair connoisseur was the best experience my hair has ever had. Please do not believe the negative reviews posted. Tamara Taylor is gifted, my hair has not been the same since leaving Tamara. The service is great the staff are friendly and the service is worth the price.

I went to this salon seeking a wash for my extensions. Instead of getting a wash she tried to sell me everything under the sun even trying to convince me I needed a $350 new do. Basically she told me that she didn't want to wash my hair because she didn't put in the extensions herself which is fine, but I wish someone would have said that over the phone. Instead she said she would give me a dry wash which consisted of her spraying something on my hair and brushing it. So after not washing my hair, trying to convince me to get additional services, and talking to me for 30 minutes, she told me that my fee for the day was $35 for a consultation?? WTF?! I asked to see a portfolio of her services and she told me she didn't have one, and her bio speaks for itself. I might have wanted to actually get the services done if I didn't feel as if she only wanted to get money out of me. It's so hard to find a hair stylist who actually cares about the health of your hair and values honesty. So my search for a good hair stylist continues.

I recently relocated to Maryland from a very big city filled with many great hair salons and stylists. I was concerned about my hair and who I could trust to not only style it, but also maintenance it in the manner which I have become accustomed to prior to moving here. I tried a few other salons, but wasn't very happy with the results. I searched the internet and came across the website for The Hair Connoisseur's. I thoroughly reviewed the site and the owner's (Tamara Taylor) credentials. I decided to give her salon a try. On my 1st visit to the salon, I was immediately greeted and made to feel very welcome. Tamara approached me less than 5-mins later, at which time she examined my hair, discussed what I wanted for my hair, gave me a detailed explanation of the condition of my hair and recommended treatment; she then took me to her work station to begin my hair experience.



Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY HAPPY by the time I left. Not only is Tamara a true professional, she is gracious, sincere and very appreciative of her clients. I thought this was too good to be true, so I returned just to satisfy my curiosity. I received the same treatment on every visit. Tamara is everything her bio states and more! She genuinely cares about hair care and her clients. I am made to feel like I am her only priority when I walk through the door. Until I met Tamara, I felt this was rare in the hair care industry. I'm so glad I'm now a client at The Hair Connoisseur's Salon! Tamara proved to me (and I am very hard to convince when it comes to my hair), that excellence in hair care is not exclusive to the big city, but can be found in her salon.
