My sister and I have doctors in CO Springs. We were so thrilled to have found Black Bear Rest. We ate there every time we went to Springs. We began taking our families and friends. The food was great and the staff so friendly and nice. Then my sister became quite ill and we weren't able to go for awhile. Just today we got to eat there. After we ate and were about to pay the bill, my sister became ill, she could not make it to the rest room. The staff brought her a bucket and she tried to do this very discreately. Then the manager came over and was insensed and rude, can she go to the restroom. We said sorry no, but she want off saying very rudely I'll get your check for you. I did complain to the waitress saying how rude she wAS and she didn't know the story. All the other staff were kind and caring. With a manager like this it won't be long before you have no business which is a real shame. I know our families and friends will never eat there again. There are lots of other nice places in CO Springs.
Update 4/22/11 - the owner and I have reached a agreement and the seat in the jeep will be repaired. I appreciate the gesture. Took my jeep liberty in on Saturday 4/16/11 for a wash and detail. When the jeep was done and I was summoned to my vehicle I got in to see how well they had done only to find that they had punctured a large hole in to the back of my passenger seat. I made the claim to the manager and he said that he did not know how they would have done that. Talked with the owner this morning 4/18/11 and she said it was not there responsibility. I will never return to that place. They did a crappy job on the cleaning also. Tires rims are just as dirty as they were when I took it in, none of the door jams were cleaned, the windows are streaked. You are glutten for punishment if you take a vehicle there
Corner Cafe is located downtown and caters mostly to the downtown lunch crowd. Their food is excellent, some of the best sandwiches in town. Bob's Green Chili and Virginia's home pies are to die for. Everything is home made and the meat and cheeses are all superior quality. They have a good variety of daily breakfast and lunch specials that offer something for everyone. It's a very friendly atmosphere and the waitstaff are always helpful and cheerful. It's a little pricey I think, but the quality is there. The service is quick and it's one of the few places you can grab a good lunch in 30 minutes. It's always my "go to" place for lunch.
My husband loves this place. They make an awesome chilly. I wish their menu changed once in a while, but they still make great food. Their spicy cheese sticks are awesome. The atmosphere is very family like. The staff is attentive and nice. A nice soup selection would also be nice instead of just the 3 they offer. It's still a great place to eat though.
I have eaten at the Black Bear Diner about 4 times and have never had a bad experience. Their food is everything you'd want when you go out: delicious, inexpensive, and they give you a huge portion size. I'm not a mountain lodge kinda girl, but I find their restaurant very calming and relaxing. It's a real treat.
Great service when going in for a pick up order. Quick and packed very well. Stayed warm all the way home and all items perfectly prepared and all condiments and sides asked for and accustomed to on the table were present with the order. Would definitely recommend and go here again.
Pros: Great food, I had the Chicken Alfredo and it was excellent etc. etc. very fast service, but they weren't that crowded when I ate there. Cons: the area where we sat was a little bit unclean, but nothing too major. all in all, good place to eat. would dine there again.
i'm not to comfortable eating in restaraunts that are basically just a house with seating, but this place was very nice. nothing special about the decor but the food and service were great. it felt a little cramped to me but to be fair i'm not a small person.
Was looking for a mini detail for my truck and lunch. Had a great lunch while waiting for my truck to be cleaned and detailed. Extremely happy with the price, food and job that was done. Truck looks like new inside and out and I walked out full as well.
One of my favorite restaurants. Big portions of good homestyle cooking. The potroast melts in your mouth. The chicken fried steak is so tender and crispy and HUGE if you get the Texas sized portion. Catfish! Okra! MMMM!!! Just give it a try, trust me!
