This complaint came from some tenants who broke their lease agreement because they thought all they had to do was give a 45 day notice and then they could move on. Wrong! Their lease expires April 30, 2012 and they arbitrarily moved out around the first part of December, leaving the home vacant and filthy. These tenants were a total pain in the tush. They complained continually! When a mouse died in the wall, they demanded that the wall was torn apart to get the mouse out. I explained to them that the odor would clear in a few days (This house is in the country and yes, with country homes, mice do manage to get in.) but she was adamant about us getting the mouse out. So, we cut into the wall, removed the mouse and put the sheet rock back into place (barely noticeable)...and then she complained about the sheet rock not being patched right away despite it being in an obscure area. They complained about the refrigerator and sent out service people to fix it.... turns out, there was nothing wrong, they had the thermostat set wrong. We sent him out 3 times - same issue as they kept changing it. We spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on these folks and they still weren't happy. One day, they somehow let the upstairs toilet overflow which went through the floor and leaked down into the ceiling and onto the hardwood floors below. We immediately sent out crews to remedy the problem and clean up. The tenants then said that the floors warped complaining that they could stub their toes on it. Although we didn't notice any problems with it, we were going to have the floor refinished anyway for them however when they found out that in the process, it would create a lot of dust and the with the sealant, a strong odor, they said they'd just put a throw rug over it. When they vacated, again, there was no sign of damage - it was all in their imagination. But never, ever did we let things slide in our repairs in fact, whenever we tried to send someone out for their "emergency", they'd postpone the appointment. They're very bitter, very irresponsible people who left the home in a mess. These folks are angry that they're going to lose their deposits - well, gee, they breached their lease and fail to keep up with your responsibilities, so yes, they're going to lose your security deposits. Actions do have consequences.
Colorado Casa Realtors has been handling our rental property for just over 3 years now and they are fantastic. I looked at some of the reviews here and I am very surprised at the issues people said they have had as I haven't had any with them at all. Our paperwork and payments are always in order and on time. The tenent we have in the house is great and if there are issues with the house someone from the office let's us know and we discuss options for repair. I think I read another comment about the office being messy or something.....does it matter how they keep their office, as long as they understand their method of organization? What is messy to one is not necessarily to another. They manage their business fairly and honestly and that is what really matters, especially today. I read some critcism regarding Jorgette's mannerisms and here's what I will say to that- she is down to earth and she tells it like it is. Maybe it's because I'm from MA and I am used to hearing the bottom line and comfortable with a person who is blunt, but I have no issues with dealing with the way Jorgette communicates and no issues talking to her. I prefer blunt because I know exactly where I stand and if there is an issue, I know exactly what the issue is. I appreciate that. I found Colorado Casa through a friend who owns several properties managed by Colorado Casa so I am willing to bet there are many more like me that appreciate the way they run their business. Hope this helps someone trying to find a property manager or looking for a place to rent, buy or sell.
The best Property Manager that I have dealt with ever. When we PCS to Fort Carson from Fort Hood we did not see the house but we rented from what we saw on line, their photos and sizes of the room on the internet was great. We shipped some boxes there and the Property Manager put them inside the house for us. They also had a very nice welcome packet for us when we arrived. If there was something wrong with the house they immediately sent someone out to fix it. If any Home Owner is reading this and they are considering renting/leasing out their homes I would recommend using them. I have rented houses where the Property Manager did the annual inspection and did not bother coming into the house. With C&C they did a thorough inspection to protect the home owner. Unfortunately we had to leave them not that it was their fault but the guy who owned the home, he wasn't paying his mortgage even though we did not miss a payment and the house was put up for auction right before my deployment. The Property Manager at C&C was so helpful in helping us find another house and immediately gave us our Deposit back without any questions. This was not their fault and they immediately felt remorseful for the situation.
