Everything about our experience with Fogg's Auto far exceeded our expectations. First off, they are not just for Porsches (although that is what they specialize in). Our Toyota Sequoia was hit by a deer; we had to have the front passenger fender replaced, as well as the hood & door repaired. Even from our first visit to get an estimate they already began exceeding our expectations. After the deer incident, the passenger door wouldn’t open (we had to climb through the driver’s side). Without us even asking, Fogg’s volunteered to quickly pop out the bent metal so we could at least open the passenger door. They did this for free. This was the 4th place I had gotten an estimate—no one else offered to do this. Just that step made me pretty much sold to be their customer. The repair estimate from Fogg’s was reasonable and in-line with the other shops (even slightly cheaper than a couple). We decided to self-pay for the repair to avoid our insurance going up (although they would have worked with our insurance if needed, too). The process of getting it repaired was flawless. The drop-off was fast and the project was complete when they said it would be. The repair itself is beautiful. You would never know anything happened. Their paint work is amazing, as perfect as you would expect from a place that works on high-end cars. Fogg’s has an obvious attention-to-detail, getting all the details just right on the hood, fender and door. In fact, when we went to pick up the car, I noticed an employee walking around the car looking at their work, just doing one final check to make sure everything was perfect. Fogg’s also did a beautiful interior / exterior detail of the car. This might be typical for auto body shops, but it was a nice surprise for us—especially because we have young kids and the car was quite a mess inside! Everyone at the shop was extremely friendly and easy to deal with. Lastly, being self-pay, they even came in under-budget by a couple hundred dollars. As I said at the start, Fogg’s is a rare find indeed, and exceeded our expectations in every way. They have a customer for life and I will be referring as many people as I can there. Thank you, Fogg’s, for such a great experience!
I went to this Brakes Plus location because my son checked out the comments here online. Our family of 4 were on vacation 1500 miles from home (Niagara Falls Canada) when the air conditioning compressor quit on my 2001 Honda Civic on July 4th 2011. I knew I could not make it home without getting it fixed right away. Unless you have ever been in this situation you can only imagine how stressful that is. I took the car in at 8 AM July 5th 2011 and had it diagnosed. I got the estimate which was no more than what it would have cost me to have it fixed by my own mechanic. Bob the service manager said they could start fixing it right away. I said go ahead and asked how long it would take, and he said it would be done between 11 AM and noon. There is always two sides to the story. Clint C was a customer of mine, but he was one of thoses customers that was real annoying because he would come in to my shop smelling of alcohol and was always trying to haggle on the price. He would always bring in his own parts to be installed. He always new exactly what he wanted done. He would diagnose his own problems by reading about it on the internet and expect me to do the work according to his own research. At first I felt sorry for the guy becuase I could see that he had some mental issues. Fifty years old still leaving at home with his parents unemployed and spending most of his days on prescibed Meds and drinking alcohol while collecting an alimony check from his wife. Clint was upset with the last car that I worked on for him becuase I didn't haggle on the price and I didn't let him bring in his own parts. He came to me for three years as he stated, and was happy with the repairs. I finally told him no more haggling and bringing in your own parts so that i can install them. I explained this is the cost of repairs and parts If you can't afford it you may have to take your vehicle somewhere else. It's sad that he felt this way and posted his negative views about me online but I'm not surprised. I hope for you Clint that you look into some treatment, your not a bad individual you just have some issues that need to be addressed by professionals. I really hate to air your dirty laundry like this in a public setting but I had to address my side of the story as well. Word of advice be truthful when you post things about individuals. I didn't see any thing mentioned about how many deals I gave you...Grow up....
