Dental Examination
Your first visit to Hooks Family Dentistry will consist of a complete dental examination with Dr. Hooks. He will sit down with you to discuss your unique dental needs and how best we might fulfill your goals for your smile. During this oral exam, Dr. Hooks will check for signs of oral cancer as well as any other abnormalities, such as tooth decay, jaw dysfunction, or defective fillings. He will also check your periodontal (gum) health to ensure that you are not experiencing gum disease. If you don’t exhibit any signs of periodontal disease, then we will perform a routine cleaning. Otherwise, we will come up with a more comprehensive treatment plan to get your gums back to optimal health.

Dental Examination
Your first visit to Hooks Family Dentistry will consist of a complete dental examination with Dr. Hooks. X-rays
The amount of radiation in X-rays used in dentistry is extremely small. Our office also uses digital X-rays, which have significantly less radiation that traditional X-rays. Whenever you are getting X-rays taken at our office, we make sure to take all the necessary precautions to ensure your safety and comfort.
Oral Cancer Screening
During these screenings, we look for common signs of oral cancer, including red or white spots, sores that bleed, and pain or tenderness in the mouth. If there are any suspicious lesions, we will send samples to a lab for analysis. The sooner we detect oral cancer, the sooner we can help you fight the disease and increase your chances of beating it!

Teeth Cleaning
With regular teeth cleanings at our office, you can maintain great oral health and help fight cavities and gum disease. We will remove any plaque or tartar and then polish and floss your teeth. Routine visits are recommended twice a year. If you have not visited the dentist in a while, advanced care or deeper cleanings may be necessary.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments have a higher concentration of fluoride than you would find in over-the-counter toothpastes or mouthwash. They help strengthen teeth’s enamel and fight plaque. These treatments are beneficial for both adults and children.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants prevent plaque from accumulating in the grooves and pits on the surface of teeth. Cavities can occur when plaque is left there to destroy the tooth’s enamel. With a sealant as a barrier, teeth stay protected! While this treatment is mostly used with children, adults can benefit from it as well.

Bridges
Before a dental bridge can be placed, the abutment teeth, or the teeth that will be covered by the bridge, must be prepped. This means reshaping the teeth so that the bridge will fit over them comfortably without looking bulky, and a local anesthetic is always used to completely numb the teeth and gums before this process begins. Next, impressions are taken so that the bridge can be created using custom measurements. A temporary bridge is placed, and then a follow-up visit will be scheduled to remove it and place the permanent one when it’s ready.

We provide scaling and root planing to non-surgically treat periodontal disease. This procedure is a type of deep cleaning where we remove plaque and tartar from around and under the gums. Dr. Hooks can also give you instructions for the best way to look after your gums at home to prevent your gum disease from becoming more serious.

Invisalign Orthodontics
To start your treatment, Dr. Hooks will visit with you for a one-on-one consultation. At your consultation, we encourage you to let our team know your goals for your smile as well as any concerns you have about the treatment process. We’ll go over everything in detail and answer all your questions. We will also use this time to design your new smile using computer software and take impressions of your teeth as they currently are. The lab will use the smile design and impressions to create your first sets of Invisalign trays. Once your trays are ready, come in for a quick fitting and instructions. Then, we’ll send you home with your first two sets of trays to wear on the schedule we recommend. Switch out your trays approximately every two weeks, and visit our office every four to six weeks to receive the next trays in the series. Before you know it, your treatment will be complete and you’ll have a new smile to show off!

Cosmetic Dentistry
Dental veneers are a popular treatment in cosmetic dentistry as they allow you to transform your smile in nearly any way possible.
