        William Codd has been licensed to practice law in New York State for eleven years. He served as a judicial law judge for the New York City Board of Education, while practicing in personal injury and family law for many years before moving to Dallas, Texas, where he practiced as a commercial litigator in the Federal courts. After six years in Texas, Mr. Codd recently made a permanent move back to New York State, and is thrilled to be living near family and friends in the Capital District. His approach to practicing law is one of personal, compassionate, responsible, and aggressive representation of clients. Current areas of practice are: family law, personal injury, home foreclosures defense, and criminal defense. Mr. Codd successfully fought five insurance companies in one ERISA action while in Texas. His focus now is on home foreclosure defense, where he has developed a reputation as being one of the premier litigators in the area against predatory banks. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Codd was a candidate for New York City Council and received the prestigious endorsement of the Staten Island Advance which has a daily distribution of nearly 400,000 papers. He was called by The Advance in an editorial one of the most exciting developments in New York politics in years. He has a long family history of New York politics and has also managed several political campaigns. His proudest accomplishment, however, is having conceived of and helped launch the very successful Tunnel to Towers run (www.tunneltotowersrun.org), which takes place every September in honor of New York City firefighter Stephen Siller, and the other 342 firefighters who bravely perished in the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2001. The race raises money for the Let Us Do Good Foundation, which benefits burn centers and orphaned children throughout New York City. Mr. Codd is active in the St. Helen's Church of Schenectady Social Justice Committee, Catholic Charities Immigration Committee and lives in Niskayuna with his wife and four children

        we hired mr codd for a forclos...

        we hired mr codd for a forclosure matter a year ago. He took our hard earned money, and never showed up for court once! His phones were disconnected for months.. he promised us our money back and nothing. And because of this we lost our home..

        I would NOT recommend this mad man to ANYONE unless you dont want results or would like to lose your money.. He did NOTHING for us and earned $1,000 for it. He has since been turned into the COPS (commitee of professional standards) and we await thier determination on the matter. He even lied to them and we have all the proof.. he is garbage!!!!

        I hired Mr. Codd as my attorney to represent me because I live out of state. He said he would take care of my legal business and took my $500 6 months later my legal business has not been taken care of. He gave me the run a round, won't answer his phone, moved out of he office, I will be taking him to small claims court, writing to better business bureau, google search review, yellow pages search review, NY. State Bar Association to make a complaint. This guy has created fraud. I will get my satisfaction to help shut him down.....

        This client's matter was taken care of by a colleague of mine who I believed had more pull in the particular jurisdiction we were in. I made two appearances for him and the colleague made three more. His matter has been resolved. Sometimes an attorney needs to swallow his ego for the betterment of the client. That is what I did.
