Car Accident Aftermath »
No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to James the owner of JAG Window Tinting and his staff for my family's experience with his business. I have lived in this area for over 40 years and have had many cars with many tint jobs. Everything from doing it myself, doing others, to having it done because I don't want to do it anymore. Since I keep all my cars for a long time, I was in search of the best window tint business I could find. Through a bit of research and comparison, I contacted JAG Window Tinting. I sent my initial email in the early morning hours and by just after 8am James replied with a quote and options. I immediately contacted him via phone and right away I felt that he was in tune with what I wanted. He walked me through all the technology, legal issues, and application options then set a time to meet that would fit both our schedules and have the car completed the same day. Upon dropping my car off, I was initially impressed with the cleanliness and organization of the shop and shop vehicle since it was not in the best part of town. When I met James, he was well dressed, clean, carried himself well, had a firm handshake and looked me in the eye. He was respectful and courteous. A true professional. Don't want to get all bromantic or anything, I was about to make a substantial investment and felt confident that I had made the right decision to give him my business. I got the impression that he was treating me as he would treat his own family by not cutting corners, using the best materials, and giving me best job possible. Throughout the day with emails and phone calls, James kept me informed as to my cars status and that he was going to attend to a previous customer who walked in and required some special attention and that it may affect my completion time. It did not. James sent me an email with a pic when the car was completed. When I arrived to pick up the car, James took me outside for a final inspection. He checked and double checked all surfaces to make sure everything was in order. Once he was satisfied, we completed our transaction with all paperwork and warranty information. The car looks amazing and there is not a bubble, wrinkle, or blemish anywhere. Perfect job! I know this is a lengthy review but I felt compelled to share my positive experience with others. It was a lot of the "little things" that really set this business and the professionalism it demonstrates apart from the rest for me. As we all know, the tint business can be a little "shady". Not here! James is truly a professional and runs a professional business in my opinion. I look forward to giving him my business in the future and will urge my family and friends to do so as well. I wish you much success. Thank you James

These guys are pros. First let me begin with my issue. I have an RV that had trouble with new tires and vibration. The original installer threw in balance beads instead of regular spin balance. Oh and for added measure he stripped three lugs. Well the vibration became worse. I then stopped on the highway at truck service vendor since my RV has a F53 truck chassis. They took two hours to do nothing, except of course crushing a TPMS beyond repair and warping the valve bracket all without saying a word. So then a friend, who drives commerical trucks, recommended I to go to Glenn's. Glenn's does truck, RV as well as autos. They suggested I Force Balance with indexing. They removed the balance beads, ran the tires on the force balance, and where they found run out, they deflated the tire and recalibrated (rotated tire on rim accordingly) wheel and re-ran the Force Balance. They were able to reduce all the runout well within nominal specs and the difference in ride is without description. Prior to Glenn's I couldn't go above 55 mph without risk of loosening some teeth fillings. Now the coach runs smoothly at 70mph. It wasn't cheap, but the results were priceless making it a bargain. Oh, and they didn't strip one single stud. These are my future go-to-guys from here on with all my tire needs...PERIOD.
Driving from Ohio, my family and I were heading to Cocoa Beach for a vacation when we thought we had air conditioning problems. Being 1000 miles away from home we googled "air conditioning service near Cocoa Beach and Jerry's Auto Pro's came up with a 5 star rating. Calling Jerry on the phone driving down I-95 we set appointment for last Monday and Jerry and company check out the air conditioning thoroughly, giving us piece of mind and comfort knowing everything was running fine. He even did a call back later in the week to see if everything was running ok! I've never experienced any other auto service center with the concern for customer satisfaction as here. Thank's Jerry and in my book I'll give you a 10 star rating for helping us out! Totally recommend any car problems in Cocoa area give Auto Pro's a call! Truly appreciate your service!!!
I have had nothing but the worst luck with used cars in Brevard County until I met Teresi Auto Sales. They don't play games; they truly care not only about the sale but the service! They do what they say they will do and they do it with an old-fashion contract (the handshake)! You want an honest, family, professional car sales' person, then come to Teresi. QUALITY! QUALITY! QUALITY! OCTOBER 10/18/16: I posted this back in June 2016 and, thank God, I have NOT had any problems with my 2004 Ford Expedition. For a used car, and the mileage it has, it runs beautifully! The last car I bought at a different Used-Cars dealership, hadd major repairs almost every month! Thank you Teresi for the used, quality transportation you provide Brevard. Martin
If you want quality work at a reasonable price, this is the place to get your car serviced/repaired. I took my son's car here a few times to get various works done and I've been very satisfied. The first thing you notice about this family owned business is the people that work there. First, the owner Joe and his son Mike are super honest. They don't recommend services that you don't need. Second, the mechanics have years of experience. They can fix just about anything. I can also ask them to explain or show the services they are performing if I'm curious or have any concerns. I will definitely take my vehicle to Teresi Auto again.
When I first met these guys I was looking for my second car on a budget and they hooked me up with an amazing car for an awesome deal. Joe and his son Michael are very professional and just honest to goodness people. I haven't had any major issues with my car other than something I did to it by accident but whatever the call may be they always make you feel welcome to come by. These guys won't make you wait around, they'll tell what's what with your car and do it. And best of all they don't over charge. They know what they're doing with years of experience and I would highly recommend them to anybody.
Jag Window Tinting is 5 stars all the way! GREAT prices, Great service and, above all else, GREAT job!!! The owner and his crew are incredibly nice and very professional. They have been in the business for years and it shows. No doubt, Jag did the best window tint on my present car than any other tinting job I have ever had done by others in the past. In fact, I am so impressed that I am getting a quote to have my home windows tinted by them as well. If you want a “no bubble, no trouble” window tinting experience, go to Jag … they REALLY are shades above the rest!
This is the place to take your vehicle if you want it repaired right the first time, and at a very reasonable price. Winner Auto fixed our van the same day we brought it in. It had been running rough and stalling in traffic, and finally, it would not start. They scanned the computer system, cleaned the throttle plates and idle control circuit, and reset the minimum air and idle settings. Our van now runs smoothly. And the bill was well under $100. Thank you Winner Auto! Mandy Merritt, owner For Any Occasion, LLC
Roberto at Big Frank's Tires was a pleasure to do business with! I needed an older model tire for my horse trailer and everyone that I called didn't have it in stock and couldn't order it. They said I would need a whole new set or would have to get a slightly different size (which I didn't want to do). Big Frank's had it for me the NEXT day and at a GREAT price! Not to mention the excellent service I got when I went to pick it up :) We will be making all of our future tire purchases from Big Franks...thanks Roberto!!
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
