Overall
Awful!

30 min to get drinks, an hour to get food. 3 of 5 orders wrong. Hard to get refills.I went with family I came to Fla. to visit. They weren't busy, not a lot of customers upstairs or downstairs. Don't waaste your time and money here. Owner needs to have some mystery shoppers come in so he can get back on track. Is a beautiful spot for a restaurant.

Horrible

Terrible food, awful drinks and poor ownership are a bad combination. They should close the doors. Never going back!

Awsome Food

We spent my Wife's Birthday at Ocean Beach Park on Sept. 21st 2008. What a Great Day. We went into Captain J's to get a few Beverages and chatted with the waitress (wish I could remember her name as she was very nice. We asked about the food and she described some of the menu items to us and raved about how good it was. We decided to give it a try when we were done at the beach. Boy am I glad we did. I had the Broiled Sea Scallops. They were, I have to say, the BEST I've ever had. My Father-in-law had the Baked Stuffed Shrimp (Captn. J's speciality). They were Excellent. Great Flavor and cooked to perfection. My Wife had the Cashew Crusted Mahi-Mahi. I did not try this item but, she loved it. She couldn't say enough good things about it. My Mother-in-law had the Crab Cake sandwich. She loved it (It didn't do much for me. Crab should be eaten with drawn butter not on a bun or in a "cake". Just me). My 6yo Son had the fried shrimp from the kid's menu. They were nice and big with a light crunchy breading. He usually gets "popcorn shrimp" (mini shrimp with a lot of breading) but he just went to town on these bad boy's. He typically won't even try the larger shrimp. He just loved them.

We were there mid-afternoon so the place was pretty dead. It's a very casual place. We had our swim suits on. The decor could use some updating but the food was outstanding and thats what it's all about.

If We ever get back to Cocoa Beach, we will go out of our way to go back to Captain J's
