left oil filter loose and lost 2 quarts of oil

worst technical service and worst manager skills ever. after discovering they left my oil filter loose and I had lost two quarts of oil I called just to give the manager a heads up. I didn't want his technician to get in trouble but I didn't want anyone else to get a damaged vehicle. he became very difficult and told me I didn't know what I was talking about and that the oil was probably just was old oil dripping off this skid plate from the change.I informed him that I got under my truck and the filter was so loose that I could spin I by pushing on it with one finger. He again was difficult and told me I would have to bring it in for him to look at but his guy couldn't have left the filter loose. I hung up and have filed with the BBB. They have a bad attitude with poor service to match.



I've been getting my oil changed at Hartland Auto for years and have always had good experiences. They check everything and let you know if they see any problems are aren't pushy about pressuring you to buy extra. They've also did a great job plugging my tire when I ran over a nail and my low air pressure light kept coming on. They tire is still fine after over a year.

do not go to this place unless u want a headach or to be disrespected all the other reviews r right i got a new serpentein belt on my grand prix it ended up sqrewing my altanator up bc they put the wrong one on it i went there bc it was cheap but ended up paying for a new altanator in the end. also went there for a price on a magnaflow exhaust for my explorer and was looked at like a young punk the guy acted like he didnt wana help me at all i will never go to this place again i hope u read this review hartland bc u f#@!ing suck


this is the worst place i ever...

this is the worst place i ever called about a radiator thurs 1/26/12 i got a price from hartland and then on 1/27/12 the price of the radiator went up to $219 so that tells me jim from hartland is a shady business man


I was in a few months ago to g...

I was in a few months ago to get an oil change and tires rotated. I was informed by the Mgr. Chris Kern that my lug nuts needed replaced. I ok'd him to replace them. I just went to Expert Tire today to get the same service done and the Mgr. at Expert Tire told me that my lug nuts were the wrong ones and that my tire was loose. He told me it would be $70 to replace them. I was upset and explained that I had just got them replaced. He told me to call Heartland and suggest I get a refund. SO, I did call while at Expert Tire. I talked to Jim Kern who then passed me on to Chris Kern. Chris wanted to argue with me and did not want to refund my money. I let him talk to the Mgr at Expert Tire and he wanted to argue with him also. I will NEVER go to Heartland Auto again. My family has been going to this local business for generations and did not think this would be a problem at all....BOY WAS I WRONG.

If you looking for autowork, look elsewhere!


After trying for several days ...

After trying for several days to reach Hartland by phone, I went past the business and found it to be open so I pulled in. I asked what their phone number was to verify that I had been calling the correct number. The number matched. I explained that the phone either constantly rings or rings busy. He explained that they were having phone problems and thanked me for telling him how long it had been an issue. The purpose of my visit was to have the brakes checked. For a fee they would assess the job and tell me what was needed. I approved. They explained what needed to be done and when they told me the cost I explained that they would need to give me time to get to the bank to make a transfer to cover the check. The person appeared annoyed and I asked why he was so annoyed. He stated that my banking was none of his business. I again tried to explain to just hold the check until I could transfer the funds which would take less than 15 minutes to do. He then told me that I was the one with the attitude and he didn't need my business. The other worker I had spoken to about the phone stated that I had an attitude w/him about the phone and blamed him for it. (Keep in mind that he thanked me for informing him ) I told him that I never once blamed him and he stated to the other worker that he didn't need to do the job. I was stunned at such poor customer service!! Needless to say they didn't do the work. As I pulled out of the parking lot onto the highway, they stood in the garage area and waved me away as I was driving. I will never do business with such an unprofessional store ever again.


dissatisfied oil change customer

i was completely floored by the uncooperative nature of the owner and manager of this business. i was not happy with the service i received on my oil change. i specifically asked that my radiator coolant level be checked and the service technician advised me that the level was good. unfortunately there was NO coolant and the overflow reservoir was bone dry. i have been a customer of this establishment for over 10 years and they refused to acknowledge that their technician made a huge error. their "signature service" is a joke. to be loyal to a customer is not in there a days 35.99 means signature service not just a pay check
