        Cleveland City Dance Company offers year round classes in Ballet, Boys' Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Graham-based Modern, Hip-Hop and more for those aspiring to dance professionally as well as those seeking to enjoy dance for recreation. Nurture your dancer’s passions and talents. Students are encouraged to excel at their individual pace and reach their fullest potential while building confidence, life-long skills, and poise. All your teachers work to create a supportive community of dancers while instilling artistry and proper technique. The versatility and resiliency that dancers learn in class results in many students receiving scholarships and offers to summer intensives, colleges, and dance positions throughout the country. Classes are offered at all levels, from beginners to advanced. This allows students to be placed according to their individual ability to be the best they can be & let them enjoy in a safe, structured environment. Our instructors have years of experience as professional dancers, teachers & choreographers in the community & nationally.         Business History
        The studio began in 1965 by Alex Martin. Over the years several dancers took the helm to manage and increase the studios offerings including building a non-profit 501 c 3 ballet company, City Ballet of Cleveland, in 2009. Offering more performing opportunities for not just students from Cleveland City Dance but also to include other area dance students in productions including the "Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker"
        Services/Products
        The Cleveland City Dance affords a unique opportunity for dedicated students to work together & support one another as they build a cohesive performing ensemble including with City Ballet of Cleveland. Through discipline & dedication they learn various challenging styles of choreography, the history of dance & its relevance to choreography. The City Ballet of Cleveland performs at the All Ohio Dance Festival, Shaker Square's Farmers Market opening weekend & area schools. Many of the ensemble have also performed with professional companies including Pennsylvania Ballet's Nutcracker & Kirov's Ballet's La Bayadere, and many more. Many have continued dancing professionally most recently with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre

        Overall

        If you are interested in classical ballet, there is no better school in Cleveland. Emphasis is placed on technique and truly learning the art of ballet not just on costumes and performances. The jazz and modern classes complement ballet well.

        I enrolled my daughter here. She loves the staff and warm environment. She's not just having fun but learning the proper way to dance ballet.
