My mother placed an order for the ribs, when she received then she notified the waitress immediately that they were still cold inside. The manager came to our table and stated he would “take care of it”.
About 10 to 20 minutes later the manager brings back the exsact same ribs on the same dish darker and now slightly burnt.
We were disappointed but did not make a fuss as the waitress was kind and considerate.
When I received my check, I was charged for the ribs. No consideration was made, no apology not even a discount for the indignity of having wait while her order was brought to the table undercooked, then overcooked!
This is completely and utterly 100% UNACCEPTABLE! This can not be the customer service Applebees is famous for. This can not be the indignity Applebees wants to be known for. And while every restaurant is different, quality, decency and good customer service is universal! This was predicated by Management, I have no other choice but to believe that this is instilled in your employees from the top down.
This is more than a black eye for Applebee, it an embarrassing moment that could have been avoided by remembering to treat customers as you would like to be treated. As I stated to the waitress I hope that this becomes a teachable moment of Opportunity! And not a continued result of lost revenue due to poor customer service!
I await to see if I need to amend this post if Applebee’s intends to improve and or correct this “missed opportunity”.
My g/f and I ate at this restaurant in Steelyard commons, and got more the we bargained for. We both ordered the Rib Combo, and we both got extremely ill within 24 hours after eating at this restaurant. Novovirus is caused when the people that prepare and handle your food don't wash their hands! We asked for a full refund they refused and wanted to send us gift cards. GIFT CARDS who would want to eat at a restaurant after becoming deathly ill? You should google Applebee's they are known for all types of bacterial and food poisonings. When I called the manager he said that he didn't get enough reports from that night to say that anything was wrong. So he dismissed us as if we were trying to get a free ride. We had extreme nausea, sweating, diareaha, vommitting, etc., but Applebees refuses to refund us our money for the baterial infected "food" they served us.
I highly recommend that you thoroughly check out restaurants now before you go and eat at them. Is your family's health worth it, or would you compromise them for a restaurant chain that simply doesn't care?
