Mr. Karlstrom is mainly retired from the practice of law, but serves the firm in an “Of Counsel” capacity. He has practiced primarily in the areas of real estate, business law and estate planning. Mr. Karlstrom has had extensive municipal law experience through representation of Independence Township, Waterford Township, White Lake Township, Rose Township, Springfield Township and the City of South Lyon. He also negotiated police and fire contracts for Waterford Township and White Lake Township.

Mr. Karlstrom began his legal career as a corporate attorney for the Midwest Section of the Chrysler Corporation, where he was in charge of dealer property acquisition and re-zoning. He has also been regional counsel for Safeco Title Company, a Series -7 securities advisor, and a licensed insurance advisor. He developed a hands-on knowledge of commercial transactions as a Ford Motor Company authorized franchise dealer for 25 years in Clarkston and has owned and operated several businesses throughout his legal career.
