Great prices, they really care about my pets. They follow up with phone calls, even had a technician name Robert call me after they were closed one night after he went and checked on my cat. thank you sylvan corners
We have 7 animals and they are all aging, so when we moved we were looking for a vet that could handle all our needs. Sylvan Corners has been good for us so far. Pricing is about average, and they are good about giving you high and low estimates and discussing alternative options. They have good sales on flea products which can make a huge difference in how much we pay for it.
We use Dr. Cohen, and my only (semi) complaint is that she is quick to refer to a specialist$$$ if the problem appears to be out of her scope. This is probably the right thing to do, I just hate how much is costs when it happens.
All the animals seem to like the staff and vets, and we never have a problem getting an appointment. They are flexible and offer cheap vaccinations on the weekends. Front desk help and techs are all great.
I took my dog Sasha to this vet 20 minutes before they closed. They got me in, they were really busy at the time. They found a small fracture in her leg and splinted her leg, and gave her some pain medications to help her. I called another local vet and they just tried to send me to an emergency clinic which are extremely expensive. I bet the first hospital I called was not as busy as Sylvan, but they still got me right in and worked late. I had to write this so people in Citrus Heights know that this place really cares about your pet.
I have left my various dogs at the kennel here for nearly 20 years and have had nothing but a positive experience. The staff takes excellent care of my pets. I feel secure knowing that they are being well fed and cared for while I am away. I highly recommend this facility if you are thinking of using a reputable kennel.
I have been taking my dogs to Sylvan Pet Hospital since 1995. Dr. Burger and Dr. Cohen are great. They always give me different options on my pets care, so they are not pushing for the highest costs. The vets and staff have always been friendly and very knowledable. They are willing to help out if something out of the ordinary arises. I would highly recomend Sylvan Corneers to everyone.
We are a dog rescue group that uses Sylvan Corners
Pet Hospital as our vet. We have had several hundred
dogs get spayed, vaccinations, x-rays and surgery at
Sylvan Corners. The knowledgeable vets and staff are
wonderful. Our dogs receive great vet care and we are
very thankful to Sylvan Corners for their support of our
rescue group. I highly recommend Sylvan Corners for
quality care at affordable prices.
I have been using Sylvan Pet Hospital for our pets for over 40 yrs. During that time many changes have been made. Today I am more impressed than ever in the compassion and efficiency of the whole staff. I feel that all employees know me well and go out of their way to accommodate my every need. I feel comfortable in asking questions about everything and feel assured that if needed follow up is immediate. I am very confident that this hospital is the best in medical care and office efficiency.
Recently I had to put my dog missy down. The staff was so sympathlic with me and my dog. Made it as easy as they could for me to say goodbye. Dr. Cohen even came in to reinsure me that I was makeing the right disussion after her being ill for over a month. They offer the ashes in a beutifull box or there paw print on a plaque. I order the plaque and it came out beutifull. Thank you Dr. Cohen and staff to make a situation as caring as posible and there thoughts with a grieving card. Definatley recomend this Vet.
My dog recently needed vaccines. Took him to Sylvan. Great staff and doctors. Friendly and seemed like they knew what they were doing. I have heard of them over the years through my family and friends. What they said was true, they have been doing it along time. If you need a stable hospital then this is your place.
They pressured my mom to put down our family dog because he was aggressive. The vet told her the following, "He was born that way, he should have never been born, we are going read about how you lost everything in the paper because he bit someone, you would be crazy to take him home". For one, our dog was not born that way--he was a German Shepherd, a working dog. NO DOG is ever born a "bad dog". Some are more predisposed to "red zoning" due to their breeding to fight such as pit bulls. Our dog was NOT one of those cases.
The cause of his aggression was due to the fact that he wasn't getting the exercise he needed, this lack of exercise turned to frustration which then turned to agression with people and situations he wasn't familiar with. I was working on an exercise regiment that would allow him to have a "job" and get adequate exercise for his breed. He would pull me behind a skateboard for miles but unfortunately I took a spill and hurt my ankle recently so we haven't been able to ride for a while. After our skateboard rides he would calm, happy and content because he was fulfilling his role in our "pack". Another unfortunate reason for his aggression was that he was forced to be isolated in the backyard due to my parent's obsession with my dog's hair being everywhere. Dogs are social animals and they need to be part of a family or "pack" to be properly socially developed. As Ceasar Milan put it, "dogs are like mirrors, they reflect what you put into them" each dog needs the proper amount
of exercise, discipline and affection in that order.
If I knew it came down to some vet pressuring my mother into making a difficult position of choosing between the family and the dog I would have done everything possible to find him the home he deserved. My friend did not deserve this...there are other resources available for dogs and euthanizing should be the LAST resort instead of the first solution. This vet SHOULD NOT have pressured my mother into making a decision between "him or the family" like that.
I am not writing this out of malice or anger, rather out of respect for Sparty--he would have died for me and I think that there are othere dogs out there that received the same treatment. I will be happy if this vet reads Ceasar Milan's work and takes the message that Ceasar has to say to heart. Ceasar Milan is a dog behavior analyst that has helped hundreds of dogs perhaps-the would then better be able to serve and understand dogs and do no harm if he read Ceasar's work.
Best service in the area. Been to a few vets around Sacramento and no one compares. Great prices. Honest and smart staff. Doctors are thorough, especially Dr. Cohen. I will never go elsewhere from now on.
I have never wrote a review for a business but I felt after what the staff had done for my pet, it was the least I could do. My cat is so aggressive and has been banned from boarding and grooming facilities all over Sacramento. When he was there, they gave him special treatment. The girls told me they gave him "faramone" scented towels to calm him down. Whatever they did it worked. No one made me feel bad about his attitude, like most other hospitals. I will never go elsewhere.
My mom has been coming here since 2002. She doesn't have a computer, but asked me to sit with her and come up with a revue for Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital. She has always had wonderful experiences for herself and her dogs. The staff are very friendly and efficient, and the veterinarians are top notch and very compassionate with her. The place has a "family" feel to it and she and her pets enjoy visiting this clinic. One of her dogs had Cushings Disease and everyone at Sylvan Corners were just awesome in their treatment, and very honest about the reality of costs and outcomes. She would never take her pets anywhere else but Sylvan Corners!
