We ate here for my son's birthday. Cheryl was great--explaining the menu and making sure we were comfortable. I had the Aji deGallina, "The Mother of the Chicken", a spicy "Americanized" stew over rice. It was excellent. They also serve the true Peruvian version for the more adventurous. My son had the Peruvian Pulled Pork sandwich. It was a very large sandwich. He said it was excellent. My other son had the Arroz con Pollo and was also very pleased. They were sold out of the Tres Leches. We were disappointed. A very pleasant, small cafe. They have music some evenings. The adress is 2061 Beechmont Ave., in Mt. Washington (Cincinnati) across the street from Fifth Third Bank. Parking on the street or in the rear.
Food is great, place is clean and the help very friendly. The new owner walks around and busses tables, waits on tables and will even tell a goofy joke or two. Soups are all from scratch and nightly specials are made from scratch as well. I hate to say anything too good because you already cannot get near it on most Sundays. I don't want to have to start waiting on a table!!! Bathrooms are clean but waaaaay out of date. New owners who seem to really care, a family diner if ever there was one! Try a gyro, gyro salad or gyro omelette...fresh hashbrowns your way!
Had no idea this place existed and learned that Fred & Gari's has been in business for years. Not only are the deli sandwiches good, they are fresh. The deli meats are baked fresh in house by Fred himself (a fun person to chat with while he is making your sandwich). And talk about a good gourmet pizza - out of this world. Salads are fantastic - 1 order enought for 2. If you have a sweet tooth, you can't say enough about the homemade cookies and pies. This is a super great place to grab a sandwich and sit out on the square during the summer days. Yum Yum t
