Ambar is nested in a puzzling part of Ludlow Avenue where three Indian restaurants with names that start with 'A' compete. Ambar easily emerges as the winner. The food is flawless, the restaurant is immaculate and you'll be back for more. We get the saag paneer and the cx tikka masala and share. Both dishes are cooked to perfection. Nowhere else in town can compete. Don't settle for the competition, go directly to Ambar - you'll be rewarded with an excellent meal.
Apna exists in the triangle of Indian restaurants on Ludlow. Apna succeeds on a few levels. First, their food is fun and distinctive. They push the border by offering some nut and seed laden vegetarian offerings that I've never seen anywhere else. Service is very good and their buffet line is filled sparingly so while they may temporarily run out of something, you can rest assured it will be fresh. Cleanliness is not a priority. Clean it up, guys!
