Can going to a dentist be fun? YES!!!
Believe it or not, but I do NOT like going to a dentist. ""What?"", you say. AND, I am not a fan of getting a tooth pulled! ""Hold the phone, mister!"", you shout out. ""You must be crazy, right? Everyone loves the delightful sound of a scraping periodontal probe on a tooth or the crackle of a root as a tooth is being extracted with a cow horn! AND, let us not forgot the terrific tones of a dental drill!"" ;) Okay, my fellow toothed mammals, I know that hardly anyone enjoys these things ...but, what can we do? We need our teeth. This whole ""talking and eating thing"" is kind of important for us. Well, I have found a dental office for you. I recently discovered an infection in my gums from a misplaced crown ...well, the infection more or less discovered me. To be a bit more specific, the infection discovered a wondrous breeding ground underneath my crown where it is warm and wet ....YUCK! I was forced to find a dentist. *My previous one was a bit too far away for me to go to anymore. A coworker realizing my plight (and pain) recommended Westend Dental to me. It was close by and she loved it. I thought to myself, ""Why not. All of them are the same, anyway. They are a thoroughly nasty place to visit and I might as well go to this one."" I WAS WRONG, MY FELLOW CITY SEARCHERS! This office is great. They were friendly ...from the front desk to the chair. From the moment I walk in the door, they made me feel like I had been going there for years. They treat everyone with equal importance and respect whether it is just a cleaning to ...well, a horribly painful infection. I was the second one. The doctor was not only personable, but informative. He explained to me: exactly what was going on, the options in treating this, and even the pricing of procedures. *Money, unfortunately, is always an issue. When all was explained, we chose the best one for me and off we went to the land of extractions and whatnot. Though, the process was not one I would of ever put on my ""bucket list""; I can say, he made me feel comfortable and never once did I have that feeling of dread I had experienced before in my past visits to other dentists. I felt at ease. To top it off, the staff has a great sense of humor. They truly love their jobs and all of us who come in with our minor issues and/or major problems. I even left with a smile after that day. Granted, I was a bit numb and drooling ...but, smiling never the less. :) If you need a dentist ...try this one out. You will not regret it. Oh, and you should floss every day. I thought, I should just say that.
