This was my first time staying at a W Hotel. I was more than satisfied with the accommodators (super comfortable bed) and the service was outstanding Example: call for wake-up call, set time then I was asked if I'd like a follow-up - snooze button call. When called in the morning received call from real person who asked if they needed to call again in 15 minutes. Service greatness. I'd give the W 5 stars, but the modern/tiki design is not in line with my own personal taste. That ...view moresaid, great hotel.view lessShare Review

This is one of my favorite Hotels to stay at in Chicago\r
The music that is played throughout the building is soothing. It relaxes you as soon as the doors open.\r
The service was great, Ray really came through with stuff to do.\r

Awesome place to stay.
Made a reservation for a room w/a view of the lake by credit card. Was not told that I had to be there at a certain time. When my friends and I finally made it there, we were given a room with the view of A BUILDING!!!
Requested a different room (in a hurry due to plans), stayed on the phone for TWENTY MINUTES arguing with a customer service rep. who said I lost my view of the lake because I checked in late? Since we were in a hurry we left one of our friends to stay in the room...view more (the manager was to call back). We came back to find our friend sitting in the lobby w/our bags. They moved the room. Got to the room, it reaked of cigarrette smoke, the carpet had an anonymous "wet spot" in front of the TV by the window that would stay wet through the night on to the next day. The bathroom door would not slide shut. Anyone sitting in front of the mirror that was by the door could see everything.
However, the bed was comfortable. The food service was great. The ppl. who delivered the food were great. Then... what we came there for, the view, was great. Although on the 8th? floor. I would not recommend Hotel W just because of the cust. serv. rep. on the phone who told me "I lost my view when I decided to check in late." O, let's not forget the smoke and anonymous "wet spot." :(view less
I've stayed at the W and have been there for parties many, many times for work and social. I feel like they are really consistent with their service (overall), but I feel like they hire the best looking people too. Is it just me? My girlfriends and I are obsessed with this one bartender that works there. Also, I think it's a great place to network professionally in the city. I've been in about 4 of their suites and they are nice, but I've been in nicer. Overall, I would recommend this ...view moreplace.view lessProvided by Citysearch
Expensive=Yes...Worth It=Absolutely....Stayed there 2 nights during my trip to Chicago (should have spent the whole trip there)...The W chain succeeds once again with this oasis on Lake Michigan. The lake view room has quite possibly the best view in the city with perfect views of the sunrise, the lake, and Navy Pier. Friendly, courteous staff caters to every need. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the room is the bathroom (windows into the room)...strange, but fun...and fun is...view more the word when staying here. Definitely recommended.view lessProvided by Citysearch
Although the rooms are small, there is a very posh quality to the hotel overall. All yes in answers the consierge and staff enjoy all guests! The rooms are dark, but trendy and the location is three blocks from Michigan Ave. A great enjoyment, but maybe a reduction in price. Fully Staffed and very friendly!Provided by Citysearch
Start with a lobby that thumps with techno and a desk that is disguised to look like a bar, follow that with a black on black hallway and paper thin walls. The rooms are dark and sexy but don't bother trying to do work, there are no high wattage bulbs in any of the lamps. Food is poor for Asian but average for a hotel. The rooftop bar is dark and small and has no views....the rooms have better.Provided by Citysearch
