Great Little Known Place

Madison has become crowded in recent years with bars, so not many people seem to venture to this location. It's great! They have great specials and you can always find a place to sit. The staff is friendly and although it is large it has a small bar feel.\r

Don't expect all of your change, good luck getting a cab, decent specials

This place does have great specials - and I've been there more than a handful of times because of the proximity to where I live. However, I'll note a few noticable drawbacks.\r \r 1. They don't give you back all of your change. For example, If your bill is $14.54 and you give them a twenty, they'll bring you back $5.00. Is that even legal? I always tip damn well and I find this a bit insulting - I get to decide how much to tip someone, not the bar - so give me back all of my change. \r \r 2. The bartenders have been consistently SLOW and RUDE.\r \r 3. Good luck getting a cab, especially if the guys at the door have drunk friends who need a ride home.\r \r My advice...there is better food and service at the new Stanley's that opened where Tutto Orsi used to be - right down Racine one block.

I went there to eat, my friend told me about cheap weekday speacials. It was a nice place and friendly staff, that day. \r So weeks later I book a party for my friends' surprise birthday party (open bar- wristband) about 40+ people attended . They were all soooo rude except the door guy. The bartenders ignored and rolled thier eyes everytime we asked for a drink, as if we were not tipping! When the manager finally acknowledge me spoke to me so rudely and said if he would see anyone sharing drinks he was going to cancel everything! MAN! So I told him if would see that, what are you trying to say??? We were all an older crowd and that I have never been insulted like that. Then I asked him if he had seen someone trying to do that and his response was ""No, but we have seen that in the past."" ???????? What kind of hospitality was that!!!! And what the hell did that have to do with us. Needless to say he was watching us like hawks and was so unprofessional. He made the rest of the party very uncomfortable for the guest and the birthday girl. \r After I shared the story with some friends they told me that they would get the same thing everytime they would go and the managers would be really rude....So these people started going some where else and for now then I would too!\r Its like mood swings in there, you just never know.

You have got to go check out union park. a perfect place for couples on on wednesday night to a group of wild ladies on friday and saturday. the place is always spotless, the management and staff are friendly, and the music on the weekends is fun. drink prices are very reasonable and the food is fantastic. my new spot.

Space was good for accomodating a nice crowd - poor service, though - only one bar and not very helpful staff. Major downfall - on a cold night, don't even think about grabbing a cab without calling for one first. Staff seemed helpful by calling cabs for several ladies waiting inside because of the frigid temps However, finding that they were calling cabs for their buddies before people waiting for in line for them was a bit of a disappointment. Would definitely not recommend this for anytime weather is not warm enough to grab your own cab possibly a street or two away.
