Didn't get the chance to order. Tried ordering online. Needed assistance so I called the resturant. Asked my name and address twice. Said she wasn't paying attention the first time. Asked my order twice. Then asked me what kind of meat I wanted when the item I was ordering was steak. I didn't order. Called complaint # on front of menu. Put on hold in the middle of my complaint, left to hold for 5 minutes before hanging up on me. Wow. Afterwards I looked them up online and read countless negative reviews. Don't believe the review before me. Research further, 2 more reviews on this website, both horrible and 1 on yelp, again horrible.

Taqueria El Ranchito\r 2829 N. milwaukee\r 773-2271688\r \r DO NOT EAT HERE!!!\r On wed. Apr 20, 2011 I ordered food from here,\r It was our 3rd time ordering from them. Although we've had not-so-good \r experiences from them in the past, it was nothing like this past one!\r First of all, There is NEVER a manager/owner available (or they are lying thru their teeth).\r We completed our cold meal and thought nothing of it, the food is sub-par for the price point.\r Early the next morning, the both of us simultaneously had the worst case of diarrhea! I mean\r it was no ordinary ""green apple splatters"", it was explosive, and not forgiving at all.\r Thursday, we are both sick, vomiting, and diarrhea, the whole 9. I tried over the counter remedies, \r but to no avail. I tried to contact the manager/ owner, the woman passes the phone to the same guy whom I\r spoke with before. He tries to tell me it wasnt from his location. (yet the whole time was spent telling\r me that he's not the one in charge) I informed him, that it had to be food from his location, because \r we rarely share meals, due to my schedule. (school and work) He then just hung the phone up on me!\r Fast forward to today, Sat. April 23rd 2011. I'm feeling a lil better today, not wifey, she was diagnosed with \r food poisoning (DUUUUUUUH). I tried to get in touch with the restaurant again, but Taqueria El Ranchito \r does not care about sickening people with old, and under cooked food. I called the health dept. to investigate, \r and I write this review to warn any and all that even thinks about going to 2829 n. Milwaukee!! Forget about it,\r I wouldn't wish this feeling on anyone. THEY SUCK, THE FOOD IS RANCID AND HORRIBLE, AND THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

I went to this place for the first time and let me just say the best mexican food in town. There servings were huge, i couldnt even finish. Love this resturant, its become my favorite place to eat.

Quite frankly this is good mexican food. I don't write alot of reviews, but this place deserves it. Nothing special as far as decor but to often bad restaurants cover up the poor quality food with their ""bling"". If you want a good meal at a good price then check this place out. The margharitas are fantastic - not stingy with the tequila !!!!

I live right down the street from this joint. The only thing nice about it is the convenient location and the hours. Service is very slow, and when i eat there i feel as if the waitresses dont really listen to us very well. This afternoon i ordered a meat lovers skillet for pick up. When i came home to enjoy it, the bacon was disgusting and not fully cook, yet the sausage was burnt..and to make matters worse while i was chewing suddenly i realized there was somthing very hard and sharp in my mouth..i spit up a peice of sharp metal about the size of a staple, but even thicker. Im very disappointed and i do not plan on going back there anytime soon.

Love this place. The food is gourmet and cheap. It's really casual and byob. I highly recommend!

Slow service (and only in Spanish), even though the restaurant was virtually empty and 2 waitresses were seemingly ""assigned"" to our table. Don't try ordering a beer based on their beer display because they only carry certain ones - the one I settled on was not even in their display. My son wouldn't eat his fries -- no wonder, they tasted like a burrito. They wouldn't accept a gift certificate that I obtained from a prominent local radio station. I couldn't determine why they wouldn't accept it (because of the language barrier) but my point of contention was that it had no expiration date on it. They only give you a fork: My son had to stir his coffee with a fork and I had to butter my bread with one.

My husband and I used to love this restaurant for its authentic food and long delivery hours. Recently they must have come under new management/ownership, because the food is now terrible, they charge extra for cheese and sour cream (even if you have a dish that's supposed to include these items), the service is bad, and they changed their hours, so you can no longer order so late. We were extremely disappointed in this change, and will no longer be ordering from El Ranchito.

Don't order from here. We ordered online and after we waited an hour, we called. They claimed they didn't receive our order. After I complained, they suddenly had our order and claimed it was on its way. We waited 25 minutes (they told us it would be here in 5 to 10) and called back. We were first placed on hold and then told to wait another 5 to 10 minutes. The food never arrived.
