  • Very Impressed

    Provided by Judy's Book
In taking my daughter into this store for her winter formal, I was very impressed with how it was ran. She had a one of the employees working just with her! She got very personal attention and the girl that worked with her listened and showed her so many dresses that all looked gorgeous on my daughter. They even dressed her up with the dresses by putting jewelery on her to show what she would look like all done up. We were able to find a gorgeous dress and we even found shoes and earrings to go with it! They had everything there, it was a relief not having to go anywhere else to try and find shoes and jewelery. I think I am more excited than my daughter to take her back for her prom!

  • Great Selection

    Provided by Citysearch
I was very skeptical about bringing my daughter here after reading some of the reviews, but she insisted so we went and I couldn't be more happy with the entire experience. Walking in we were shocked at how many dresses they have displayed and a little overwhelmed but than we were explained how the store worked by one of the girls. We brought in pictures like they tell you to do on the website, but were told to see if they were on the floor otherwise show the girl in the fitting rooms because they might be in the back. Looking on the floor we did find some styles that we liked but the best was once my daughter was in the fitting rooms she had someone working with just her (almost like a personal shopper!) As soon as her girl saw the pictures that we brought she brought out a very good selection of dresses, all of which my daughter loved! We finally got her to decide on one that she really liked and even though we were there for a while, it was definitely worth our time and drive(we live almost 3 hours away!) I would suggest this store to anyone!

  • Loved It!

We went to Peaches to get my daughters homecoming dress and we had a wonderful experience! Amazing choices, our personal shopper was so nice and I had a wonderful conversation with the owner before we left. My daughter was thrilled and it was worth the three hour drive! Please give this store a chance and thanks Peaches!

  • Never, never again, this store is a total joke!

    Provided by Citysearch
For all of the hype this store gets, you'd think the service and selection was impecable. Not the case. After driving from Romeoville, I stood in a 3 hours line with my daughter, only to be limited to 3 dresses. She was helped by some snotty little high schooler that was trying to get her to try on a $600 princess ballerina pouffy dress with the entire fluffed up, over-priced get-up (slip, bra, gloves, shoes, tiara....). NOT the look she was going for. This is junior prom and my daughter had a vision of what she already wanted, glamourous. She tried to find something, though the selection seemed vast, what they really had was the same few dresses in different sizes and colors. That's the same as going to a departement store. Overall, the experiece was awful. I saw many girls walking out in tears, a loud argument broke out with either the manager which caused the mother to throw two gowns at them and leave with her two daughters - yes, they lost two sale because of their rude service. Some people had left out of line after seeing that as well. I would have too, but my daughter was in the fitting room. I personally think that they only reason this store sells anything is because when someone actually finds anything, they just want to leave and not go through the hassle of shopping anymore. You won't save any money here, their prices are highly inflated, I didn't see anything there under $350. The gloves were $40! The same gloves that are sold everywhere else for $15 or $20! I don't know why people go here. I will never send anyone to this store, and will never set foot there again. There are many other stores you could patron. Smaller shops seems to have a better selection and MUCH better service. Save yourself the stress, headache, and money! Not worth the hassle of the drive, or wait. Read my other review as to where we DID find a gorgeous dress for less, I highly recommend them, NOT PEACHES!

  • Rotten Peaches...

    Provided by Judy's Book
When I first arrived at Peaches, the store looked cheap and had hideous disco decorations in the window (talk about cliche and outdated)! Not to mention, the store is in a very bad neighborhood. The parking lot is cramped and dangerous. The experience gets rottener when you enter the store. Peaches is filled with tacky, poofy dresses that all look very cheaply made. I was fortunate enough to be escorted to my fitting room rather quickly. However, all the dresses I printed out on their official website seemed to have "disappeared" when I handed the printouts to the sales associate. . I had the style numbers and everything! Do not waste your ink and paper by printing out the style numbers and dresses because they don't even bother to look for them. I had over 10 dresses printed out and they could only find one. How sad! If the pushy sales associates aren't enough to get on your nerves, try having to listen to snotty know-it-all mothers. Since the space is very cramped and there is no seating for the spectators, a crowd of mothers/ family watch you try on your dresses. I literally had over 100 eyes on me as I modeled each dress for my Mom. How intimidating! Not to mention they voiced their opinion whenever they pleased. Don't worry, my Mom told them off lol.Long story short, Peaches is a disaster. They rush you to buy their over-priced tacky dresses. They're not worth the hassel.

  • THEY SELL THE SAME DRESS TO THE SAME PROM!!!

    Provided by Judy's Book
I decided to go to the boutique for my senior year prom (the only prom I went to!) and their "motto" is "We know how important prom is and we do not sell the same dress to the same prom," yeah right. The week before prom a few girlfriends and I got together to show each other our dresses and talk about hair and nails etc. only to find out my close friend and I had the SAME DRESS (in a different color). Now we tried to resolve the problem only to end up in the same place we started. They would not come to an agreement with us at all! Their only statement was "Our policy is clearly stated on our website" (((where we never set eyes on considering we bought the dress in the store))) and to top it off their wonderful policy which they stated was on their website is not explained anywhere in the store. Yet when we finally checked out the website their slogan was slighty different "We know how important prom is and we do not sell the same dress IN THE SAME COLOR to the same prom." Now I'm not trying to "beat around the bush" but if a dress has the same id # and designer, is it not the same dress? It still wasn't THEIR problem even though they misrepresented themselves. I didn't choose to pay their hiked up prices to only deal with the huge mess they presented me with, and great pictures with another girl wearing my dress.

  • Blatant rip-off

    Provided by Judy's Book
This place marks up prom dresses higher than any other I've found in the area. They are in a lousy location by Midway airport (not the best neighborhood) and as others mention - they cram a lot of dresses in a small space. There's nowhere for a parent to sit while waiting - and the staff is fairly rude and rushed. You can get the same dresses - for less elsewhere (either via the internet - or from other prom/bridal salons - at the "normal" retail price). They even double the retail on the gloves!! They want $40 for $20 (full retail) gloves!! My daughter bought her dress at a local bridal/prom dress salon in Naperville (for about $80 less than what Peaches wanted) - and paid just $20 for the same gloves her friend paid $40 for at Peaches.I strongly recommend to others - that even if they go there to try on gowns - they buy them elsewhere. The only thing this place has going for it is they have a large selection available to try-on. However - paying ABOVE full retail - particularly in the neighborhood they are in - is insane!

  • Peaches without the cream !

    Provided by Judy's Book
Buy the dress and get t-shirt and garter free yeah right you pay for everything when you pay for that $400.00 & up dress. The t-shirt is free advertisement for the store. With those prices you should get coffee, donuts, fresh fruit, dinner or something for all that money. My visit a lady was looking at a $600.00 dress for her daughter and the owner of the store never left her side. The prices have gone up this year too. Those dresses hanging in my closet from previous years will be used for my daughter and two of her friends who went to Peaches and realized you have to pay for cream elsewhere. Thanks but no over priced dresses for three prom going girls this year.

  • Horrible overpriced store

    Provided by Citysearch
A group of us (5 mothers) decided to do some prom dress shopping with our daughters. We had taken the day off from work and the girls had the day off from school. We had goen to this store because that's all the girls could talk about is this store called Peaches. All I could say is that it's highly overrated and that YOU SHOULDN'T SPEND YOU HARD EARNED MONEY HERE. From the moment we walked in we were treated like cattle. A herd of girls were attacking the racks, there were lines of upset parents and their daughters in the store and while we were there for 3 hours (time we basically wasted) we witnesses 7 different groups of people walk out of the store because of either poor customer service of simple rudeness on behalf of the staff. We never did get into the fitting rooms because they decided to split the lines up and loose track of what was going on in the store. We started to get angry at the process and really wanted to leave, but before we could say anything our own teenage daughters (who wanted to come here som badly) had seen and heard enough and themselves said they wanted to leave, and we all gladly did so. None of our girls could find a decnt gown under $450 and they all either looked link skanky night gowns or pepto-bismol ballerina dresses. In the end, I was glad we left we shopped 2 other stores, and found some one of a kind dresses at a small, yet affordable shop also in Chicago (Kasia's). Owners were much more personable, lines were much shorter, and the prices were much more reasonable. My daughter found the exact same dress she was going to try on at Peaches for $125 cheaper at Kasia's. Save your money parents, prom is not a cheap event. You deserve much better treatment if you're going to drop the kind of cash Peaches asks. The management needs to realize that people talk and that their lack of customer service skills do not go unnoticed. I chose to speak with my pocket book, and I'm glad I did.

  • Best Selection Anywhere

    Provided by Citysearch
Whatever you see in the magazines this place will have. I mean it. The selection is huge. Just show them a picture and more often than not if it isn't out front they will bring it from in the back. The girls doing alterations were all very good and nice. The prices are pretty steep though. And it can get pretty hectic around prom time. you could be waiting for an hour or so before it's your turn for fittings. Also I think the manager can be a bit snobby and rude. I remember she made a comment to my parents and I like "maybe you should have been here in December or January. That's when most people get their dresses". I was like it's the beginning of Feb. and my proms not till May. A whole 3 and a half month away. Still I had no clue what she was talking about because I was one of the first girls I knew to get my dress. Of course they do the traditional stuff every dress shop does. They carry each dress in only 2 sizes usually. Something like a 6 and 12. So they can charge you a could of times for alterations. Another thing the manager (or owner maybe?) got pretty snotty about was the fact I wanted a smaller slip to go under my dress. I didn't want this huge thing she was trying to put on me. My dress was poofy enough. I looked ridiculous with the one she wanted on. She kind of made some more rude remarks about that. But the girl who did my fittings was awesome. She suggusted alot of stuff that really did look super cute on me. This place really is full of great quality dresses but if I could do it all over again I would never pay that much for a prom dress. Girls listen to me, when you look back it's just not worth it. I really wish I would have cared less about prom and just got a like 100-150 dress somewhere else. I woud have been just as happy.

  • Overpriced & Crowded

    Provided by Judy's Book
Besides the fact that there was a 4-hour wait for the fitting rooms 2 and half months before prom time comes around, the actual store is really small...and there is NO PARKING!! I think that because they "are the largest carrier of prom dresses," their website is really good for searching dresses by color/style, etc...but then I recommend searching the item number and getting it somewhere else, because they definitely jack up the prices. After looking through the front window of this store, I decided to go in anyway. Its cramped and very poorly arranged. Their gowns aren't special in any way. And they charge really high prices considering the quality and location. I've actually known who've bought dresses here and had the dress rip the first time they wore it. This happened to three people I know and in all cases the store did not compensate them for the trouble.

  • Not for me!!!

    Provided by Judy's Book
This is a very high priced pushy little boutique that seems a little out of place for the area. They do have a good selection of prom type dresses and will keep on bringing you outfits to try on in the dressing rooms. But if you are over the age of 25 you will feel very out of place here. I was there once and have never been back. But obviously they have something there as they have been there for ages and have expanded.

  • Quite an experience...

    Provided by Judy's Book
This place promises to pamper you like a princess. They definitely try very hard, but personally their immediate selection didn't appeal to my tastes. If the first thing you think of when you imagine prom is large poofy, princess dresses - then you've come to the right place. Regardless, it might be worth the trip if you just want to experience some culture shock. Their new store is 10,000 sq. ft. and somehow the majority of its dresses seem to be of the large and frilly variety. You can grab as many as you want and the staff will prepare a waiting room for you. They treat you pretty well but my personal experience made me feel a little insulted as they like to adjust your cleavage for you if they seem to believe you're lacking in the area.... Regardless, it's okay for the typical prom princess looking to be fitted and decked out. They will give you a pair of shoes to model in, gloves in a coordinating color, and will add some sort of hair accessory to your ensemble. They will keep rotating your dresses for as long as you please, and they store many more varieties (which I'd imagine are the sleeker, better ones) in their warehouse in the back. You get a free t-shirt and garter with every purchase, and that purchase will run you a hefty tab. It's a good place to go for the experience (just once), but it wasn't really suited to my personal tastes.
