I've been going to Molly's since it opened, and it has remained a staple dessert in our house every since the first day we tried a cupcake there. The cupcakes are really phenomenal - perfect frosting (the cream cheese on the red velvet is TO DIE FOR) and perfect cake texture. Sometimes the fillings are a little bit too much, but really, can you ever have too much cupcake? The hidden gems here though are the smaller items that aren't right at eye level in the glass cases. These items are cheaper, and really make it a tough decision between cupcakes which are more expensive. Their rice krispie treats are absolutely PERFECT. Chocolate covered strawberries have the right consistency and quantity of chocolate - at half the price of high end places. And their cookies are totally divine. Bottom line is there is something for everyone here. You will not be disappointed!

Molly's Cupcakes tastes like heaven. Well baked, tasty cakes in just few dollars. Whenever I visit that street, I never leave it without buying one. It makes me crazy. Staff is also polite and friendly.

We came from France to check out real US cupcakes. After having tried several well renowned bakeries in London, UK, we hit Chicago. Walking into Molly's is like going back to school - with all those good memories. The small tables and chairs, the games and the counter with swings ! Then when we get to the counter it's heaven. You can make your own cupcake. You choose the base, the frosting and the toppings. Then it is decorated in front of you ! Or if you are feeling really adventurous you can try the many specialised cupcakes. Be careful, these are serious cupcakes soft and fluffy, excellent filling and not sickly at all !! Much to our (pleasant) surprise expecting US cupcakes to be sweeter than those in the UK. So Molly's is bakery number 6 on the cupcake list and went straight to the top and is still there (after trying 3 bakeries in Madison WI too). To tell you how good it was, we were due to drive back from Milwaukee on the following Sunday directly to O'Hare to fly home, we changed our plans to spend the Saturday night in Chicago so we could go back to Molly's !!!! This is THE address to know, to go to and to share with everyone !

The cupcake I had was a bit dry for my taste and it was nearly $4.00. Being a fan of the Ron and Fez show on XM radio, it was worth a visit.

I'm a huge peanut butter and choclate fan and this cupcake made my life complete! I believe I can die now, LOL. The Ron Bennington is worth the drive.

My friend makes the cupcakes there and she is a terrific baker:)

This place is heaven on earth. I went there i few months ago and I can't stop going back. Every time I go in there the staff is SOOO friendly and helpful; even when the line is out the door.\r The flavors change seasonally but like always I am infatuated with the Ron Bennington. Next in line is the Éclair cupcake. \r There are games to play and SWINGS at the counter. That's where I like to sit with my Ron Bennington and the very best cappuccino ever.

Love Mollys, everything is hand made, and decorated and filled one at a time, by hand. The recipes and flavors are really unique and every filled cupcake tastes like a dessert in a 5 star restaurant (for only $4!). Try the Ron Bennington unless you hate Chocolate or Peanut Butter. I also love the plain cupcakes and the minis. \r \r I think my favorite thing about mollys though is they're always creating and looking for new ways to offer things that blow away the competition and they usually succeed.\r \r Stop in often, you never know when they'll be creating Italian sodas made the old fashioned way, or a new kind of ice cream, or scones, or a new blend of hot chocolate, or cinnebunnies!\r \r

I live in Cleveland, OH. My father went to Chicago on business and I made him bring me back some cupcakes. They were the best cupcakes I've ever had, especially the Ron Bennington. I am hoping to get back to Chicago soon to have some more.

This place is the BEST! We love going here every time we're in Chicago. I'm from New York, and can tell you honestly that no place in NYC stands close to Molly's. It's perfect: you can pick your own frosting (and cake) to create your idea of perfect. The red velvet (my fave) is super moist and yummy. I love the atmosphere, it's fun and happy and always bustling with friendly staff and customers. We love the games, too! Can't wait to go back!

These are honestly the best cupcakes ever. I especially enjoy the customization that goes into each cupcake :)\r \r I go to school in Milwaukee and I wish they could deliver here!\r \r ALSO! The staff is am-az-ing. Super friendly.

Molly's is amazing. The cookie monster cupcake? People have to hold me back. And the staff is always having a good time--they're polite and friendly, and the music is great! To all the chicagoans who think the best food is downtown, think again! This shop in Lincoln Park has it all.

Molly's cupcakes are absolutely delicious, but to really enjoy them do not take them to go. We had so much fun sitting on swings at the bar, and there are cute comfy tables and booths as well. I felt like a kid again and my sweet tooth was very, very pleased. I am ordering several dozen for my party this weekend! My favorite- the red velvet, but my companions went the chocolate peanut butter cup and carrot cake route.\r \r

This place is wonderful and worth the trek! They have many varieties that look great (creative) and have great flavor. Stay out of the Loop go North you wont disappointed!
In my opinion these cupcakes are alright. There is a good selection of Gluten Free cupcakes which is nice for those with allergies. However the fruit filled cupcakes are atrocious it was mushy and soggy when I bit into it and the cupcake folded into itself like it was melting. The standard cupcakes are better but the frosting is too greasy/oily you can tell they use alot of fat. Good atmosphere and fun & interesting seating. Overall the experience was alright but the service & price is what made the experience fair.

My hubby bought a sampling of six different cupcakes for my birthday - they were ALL delicious, moist and creamy. The buttercream was fabulous, and I'm not usually a fan. The favorite I think was the Boston Cream Pie cupcake....it practically melted in my mouth! I will definitely be going there again!

I love Molly's. I have been there twice and am going there again this afternoon. Their cupcakes are delicious, especially the filled cupcakes. Try the Chocolate Decadence, Strawberry and Lemon varieties. They also have mini-pies and cheesecakes. Molly's serves coffee and ice cream as well. The store is very cute and friendly filled with childhood keepsakes like metal lunchboxes, swing seats at the icecream bar, Rock'em Sock'em Robots, Jenga, Scrabble and Connect Four games. Even the bathrooms are cute with entrances made to look like elementary school classroom doors.\r \r Wonderful place!
