The Best Caesar Salad You Will Ever Have!

    Provided by

If you are a salad lover this is the place to be! There Caesar salad is the best one you will ever have. They make their own dressing and they add red pickled onions you want to ask for extra onions because they totally make the salad it would be as good without the onions! If I could have this salad everyday I would.

    wonderful

    Provided by

the good: food, service, and overall atmosphere are top-notch. an extraordinary, ever-changing specials menu gives you a new, amazing dish every weekend before 2, and even it's regular dishes are great.\r \r the bad: waiting. in the winter. outside and miserable. also, it rarely isn't crowded, even in the bar waiting area, and you're lucky if you're only in there 15 minutes.\r \r the ugly: though the art itself is beautiful, it rarely changes, and while an exhibit of R.E.M.-inspired artwork is interersting, i doubt anyone looks at it and thinks 'this will never get old', the flowers always look like they've been dead for six months, and if you bring your kids prepare to have everyone in the building hate your fertile guts.

Good for a casual lunch with a couple friends

    Provided by

I went to Lula's for an early lunch with some friends one morning. It is a little small, and has an indie vibe. The waiters are in regular clothes. It seems sort of run down from the outside, but that adds to the charm, as it is very modern in the inside. There are exotic flowers at every table. The menu is a little small but the food is very fresh and tasty. It's healthy too, no deep-fried chicken here. I would recommend the fruit smoothie. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if I'm walking by I would definitely stop in.

    Delicious!

    Provided by

I've been referred to Lula's by a friend, have since then have taken many friends on many weekends to this delicious, savory spot! The Sunday line is annoyingly long, but the food is well worth the wait! The STRADA is the absolute BEST! My friends enjoyed their breakfast burritos, and the morning drinks are delicious as well! The only disappointing thing was the French Toast... I'd go elsewhere for those...

Lula Cafe saved my birthday when another place dropped the ball. Thanks for being reliable and yummers. I should have gone here first.

    friendly lula

    Provided by

i'm very fortunate to live very near to lula cafe and go there frequently. it really is one of the best places to go for consistently good contemporary food, that's not too fussy, at amazingly reasonable prices. my one complaint USED to be that they always had terrible service. i mean terrible. we even wrote a few letters. But now, they seemed to have seen the light and ditched the waitstaff with the ""too cool to serve you"" attitude. Now everyone there is super friendly, helpful, and committed to making your meal great.

    Too much hype!

    Provided by

Everyone was raving about this place so I decided to check it out. I was impressed with the ambience and decor but was a bit disappointed when the food came out. I can see why it's popular but I can't see why some consider it one of the best restaurants in the city. Decent, but I wouldn't even consider it the best restaurant in Logan Square.

Best turkey sandwich I've ever had

    Provided by

I used to live in Logan Square and ate at Lula about once a week, and I absolutely LOVED the food, but it was mostly carry out. Recently, I've taken my girlfriend there, and she mentioned she doesn't feel comfortable there-- the seating isn't relaxed, and it often feels like you're dining at the same table with strangers. Plus, it's become kind of a hipster/yuppie hangout. So while I can're recommend the food (expecially the turkey sandwich) and coffee enough, I'd say call ahead and take the food home.

    Love love love LULAS!

    Provided by

It's awesome to have such an amazing neighborhood cafe. It's small and tight, but cozy. There's always something new on the menu. The drinks are awesome. The feta cheese place is delicious! My roommate and I order it everytime. The carrot cake is also a favorite. It's organic and made by a local woman. The brunch is also great, try the french toast.

    very cozy

    Provided by

the outside look of this little cafe does not represent what you find when you step in the door. it has such a cozy feel, walls covered in beautiful art and sich a great atmosphere all around. the food was great, the menu was simple with a good selection.

    Great Find

    Provided by

We ventured out of our River North neighborhood to try Lula's based on a review on Check, Please. We loved the warm atmosphere of the restaurant, and the neighborhood charm. The staff was friendly and inviting. Every dish on their menu is intriguing and unusual, and very affordable for Chicago. We brought in our own bottle of wine, and only paid a $10.00 corkage fee. We went on a Sunday night at 6pm when they start serving dinner, and by 6:30 pm, the place was full. They don't take reservations, so go early. We only wish we had a restaurant like this in OUR neighborhood!!

    Good stuff!

    Provided by

The food is consistently excellent, the staff is friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is mellow and there's no attitude. The only drawback is the bar, where the drinks are often below average. But the food makes up for it.

    Breakfast is Best

    Provided by

I've been dedicated to Lula's as my favorite breakfast spot for a long time. It's slightly overpriced breakfast entrées are always incredibly creative in their tastes and ingredients. I don't mind the pricing as I feel it's good to support farmer's markets and all natural ingredients. Now they have a liquor license which means good things for mimosas. My three trips to Lula's for dinner were nothing to brag about. I have an innate reaction to a $21 entrée served with paper napkins. The mod scene has sort of vanished from this hot spot and I attend in fear of further evidence that Logan Square will be the next Wicker Park. Overall, Lula's boasts great food, great ingredients, and sometimes overpriced. I continue to go there for breakfast, as I consider them one of the best for that favorite meal. I would highly recommended it to anyone who asked.

    Bringing it all together

    Provided by

With its liquor license and new lounge next door, Lula graduates into a mature and in some ways more refined restaurant -- making a restaurant that has always been very good just that much better. The specials at Lula have become essential dining -- innovative, artful and most important delicious alternatives to the already outstanding cartes menu. Problems with service I have noted in the past have been remedied, with some really inexcusable sloppiness now replaced by a loose and friendly but efficient style with an increasing level of professionalism that may soon catch up with the impeccable quality of the food being served at Lula.

    Cozy, healthy, artsy neighborhood spot!

    Provided by

A great little neighborhood restaurant with local artists' work on the walls and a wide variety of food for all tastes (and budgets)! Most dishes are great, but some (such as the cinnamon-laden tagine or overpriced desserts) could be better.

    Reason to live in logan

    Provided by

The food here is very creative and always tasty. The specials menu changes frequently and is made with organic produce and meats. The service is good and the waiters have been there for years. The breakfast is by far the best in Chicago!

    i la-la-love lula!!!

    Provided by

from the street it looks like it would some hole-in-the-wall diner, but really it's some of the BEST food i've ever had in the city. add to that, the fact that it is sooo cheap compared to places with comparable cuisine AND much of the food is natural/local and fresh (i.e. free range chicken and organic veggies). i rave about this place to anyone who will listen!

    My take on Lula

    Provided by

Ok, I live in the neighborhood and have eaten at Lula, and well...it's ok and a tad overrated in my opinion. The menu rarely changes and well it's overrated, overun by yuppies. Before Lula the cafe was called the Logan Beach Cafe, now, that was a cool place to hangout, meet friends or just have coffee and good food. Since then it has undergone new management and decor---boring! but hey, this is just my opinion, obviously someone likes it. bona petite.
