Italian Village on a Off Night

Staying at the Palmer House and decided to order in, we choose several dishes so as to share. The garlic bread had no garlic, totally tasteless. THe chicken & Penne Pasta was so bland, the chicken parm, bland, lasagna was flavorful but so overloaded with meat sauce that it was overwhelming. They included a loaf of french bread that had absolutely no taste at all. All in all we were very disappointed, had heard so man... view more

The Village in the Loop

I love this restaurant. The first time I ate here, I thought it was the cutest place I had ever seen. The ambiance of a little Italian Village is so unique, it gives a lot of character to the place. The food is consistently good and the service is spot on!!!! If you have not been here, you must check it out. You will not be sorry......

Poured Sauce Down My Back and Barely Said ""Sorry""

Food was just mediocre. Service was awful - server poured hot sauce down my back, the ""Concierge Liaison"" barely apologized, and offered little consolation. I am not from Chicago, it seems like a lot of support is sentimental, it is certainly not the service or the quality of the food. If you don't have loving memories of your parents taking you there as a child, I would highly recommend going someplace profess... view more

Delicious food

I am a big fan of Italian food, and this place is pretty excellent. They use top-quality ingredients in the food, and the service is exceptional. My wife and I usually get the Cacciucco, and top it off with a Tiramisu. If you're taking your family, I don't suggest going on a Friday of Saturday night the wait is forever. Overall, I enjoy Italian Village!

Wonderful Dining in the Loop!

Spent the day in the Loop! Saw the Tasset Eye in Prikzer Park - went to Millinuem Park and then headed to the Italian Villlage. They were packed! But , the wait was not more than 15 minutes ...we had a drink in the bar and munched on the complimentary pizza.\r \r When seated we were in a quaint booth. After looking around I noticed they were all named after places - but in Italian...the Library-Jail- hospital e... view more

Low Quality Italian Food

From the start a basket of stale breadsticks and poor quality unheated bread was placed on the table. I get bread in Brooklyn, NY as good as they bake in Italy so I know the difference. The tomato sauce was not good, they are certainly not using San Marzano tomatoes. The stuffed pasta dish, agnolotti, was not filled enough with ricotta or fresh spinach and the risotto was dry and not creamy. I have dined in the best ... view more

Welcome to Italy

talk about old Italian rustic charm! My family love going to this place because of their great food and of course, their spacious, cozy and very homey arrangement of the place. I love their ministrone, antipasto and their thin crust pizza. these have become a regular order for us every visit. also love their chicken parmigiana, ravioli and frutta di mare. all their food is great but I have to say that these are m... view more

Awesome Service and Italian Food

Recently took my family here as my sister was in town from California. We were seated in a very charming booth, which could have sat six, so it was quite spacious. We were immediately greeted by our server, and had bread and our drinks promptly. We ordered the chicken vesuvio, the osso bucco, chicken marsala and veal parmigan, the chicken vesuvio took a bit longer to cook, but it came out fresh and very good. Af... view more
