The view and decor of this place make the dining experience highly memorable. For that alone, its worth trip. Take all that away though, and you have an very average Cheesecake Factory...minus cheesecake even being on the menu. I probably wouldn't dine here as my first choice but I would give a fair recommendation to anyone seeking to try it out.
Drinks & Appetizers
The drinks were highly over priced. I ordered one of their signature drinks and it tasted like sugar water. However, they happened to make a Lemon Drop Martini the exact way my wife likes it so they get a pass on this round. We also ordered crab cakes as an appetizer and I have to say that the Sam's Club brand of homemade crab cakes taste better. #KanyeShrug.
Entrees
I ordered the Shrimp Scampi and it was good. I'd order that again. The shrimp were seasoned to perfection and the pasta sauce was very flavorful. My wife ordered the Chicken Ravello and substituted the chicken for salmon. She was satisfied and enjoyed her meal, but not overly impressed.
So if you take her drink and my entree, you have the perfect combination.

My whole day was ruined because I drove there and there is no parking anywhere; I'll never go back

Food is amazing but the wait can be long and the service unpredictable. This is a frequent stop for my family and I when we want to enjoy a nice sit down meal. We have enjoyed every dish we've ordered, which has included: fish and chips, chicken piccata, the BLT sandwich, and the chop house burger. The salads are also excellent, as are the selection of desserts, that is, if you have room. the portions are usually enough to share with 2-3 people. We tend to order three dishes and share them among 4 adults. The second floor location is also really nice, as some of the seating overlooks michigan ave. Be prepared to wait, but know that the food is worth the wait!

Never had Grand Lux's breakfast/brunch before, but recently visited their Chicago location. Food was great and service was very good considering how busy it was. Definitely recommend it and kid friendly as well.

The Grand Lux Cafe is in a fantastic location. Whether you are a guest of Chicago or resident, this is one of the most reasonable great restaurants around. It is owned by the Cheesecake factory and similarily has a huge menu. The portions are huge, costs are very reasonable and has excellent service. The restaurant itself is very unique with interesting art throughout and even a view of Michigan Ave. The lines can be long, but they are absolutely worth it. They also have locations in Las Vegas that generally do not have the same wait if you are traveling there.
